looking for opinions on getting the SU! clear block case
I definitely going to order the block bundle. Now i want to decide if I should get the case. I know i don't need it cause i can just put my blocks in a bin or box or something. What i want to know is there a real advantage to having it? If you do have it, do you use it? If you don't have it, do you wish you had it?
I only have a few clear blocks so far but if I order the bundle I want the case too. Since each block has a spot, you can see in an instant if a block is missing.

I love it! It's great when I'm done, I just put them in it and store it on a shelf. Super easy to take them with me to a crop or workshop or wherever. It keeps them nice and clean and dust free and safe. You can't go wrong!
I personally don't feel the need for a case like this, because I want my clear blocks very accessible. They're one of my most-used supplies, so they sit on my stamping table in a basket. Easy to grab, easy to put away. And since I have multiples of some sizes, I can put them all in one place, instead of having one set in a special box and the extras in something else.
I don't have one nor do I feel like I must. I have a drawer convenient to my stamping space that I just slide open when I need one. Since I do most classes and workshops at my house, I don't need the case for traveling. And, I also have multiples of most blocks already!
Since I ordered the bundle, I got the case as well. For me, it makes it easier for me to KNOW where they are. If they were in a box or bin, I know they wouldn't be handy at the ready. I have a problem with organization!

Yeah, I don't have room for them to sit out in anything on my desk...don't really have too much room on my desk period...glad you can't all see it now, lol. And again, I like that the case keeps them clean, dust, and scratch free...I'm a bit clumsy:-)
I love storage things and think they are a great way to spend money! if all I had were SU blocks and I wasn't planning on getting others, I would get the storage.
However, I have tons of blocks, in lots of sizes much bigger and smaller than SU's, so I just throw mine in a clear plastic shoe box that sits right in front of me.

thanks. i think i may skip the case. I have some CTMH blocks that i plan to keep so i'll keep them all in a bin instead of separate.
Probably a good plan; the case has molded inserts making it so that the fit is likely specific to our blocks. I don't know how well others would fit. But I love it because it keeps the blocks from rubbing into each other and getting scratched. And when closed, it takes up less space on my work table than a basket.
NEED is in the mind of the beholder, so having said that. I carry my blocks around to workshops, camps and crops and mine were getting pretty scratched up, so I got the case. Having the designated spot does make it easy for me to keep track of them. I can grab them and go and I like having a place to keep them, rather than rolling around on my stamp table.
I used a couple large clamshell cases left from unmounting, and that works really well. They stack nicely, slide onto the shelf quickly, open easily and i can see which one I need as I'm grabbing the case. So I'll be skipping the holder... more $ to spend on stamps to go onto those lovely blocks!

I just got my case today and I'm not sure I'm that thrilled with it. Ok, I know this will sound petty, but it stinks (as in smells bad)!! The rubber is not really the quality that I was expecting, I guess. The blocks fit so tight that there is a pretty good possibility that I'm going to break a nail or 2 everytime I try to pry them out :(

It is a bit stinky but I just left mine open for a few days and I don't notice it anymore and I have a VERY sensitive nose! And it needs to be a tight fit so those blocks stay put! Mine has loosed up quite a bit also as I have put in and taken out the blocks so yours should with time and use! I was surprised about the smell too when I first got it! Hope you'll come to love yours in time!
I have my clear blocks in a basket, right on my work table, for easy access!! I don't want a holder thingy that I have to rummage thru to find my blocks. Mine are all in a basket, within arms reach.

Someone told me to slip a ribbon underneath my blocks with the ends hanging over the top of the block. Then, when I need to remove a block, just pull up on the ribbons. Haven't tried it yet, but sounds like a good idea.
I bought the complete set of blocks during sale-a-bration last year and then tried several ways of storing them; all were cumbersome. I finally bought the case when the new IB&C came out in JulyI absolutely LOVE it! I keep my markers and the case on a shelf my by stamping spot. It keeps them clean and accessible. I have a SMALL stamping space, and have to be very creative about productive storage. The case is perfect for me.
I was pretty much a wood-mounted girl until I used the SU blocksI love them especially the really neat finger grooves around the side. I have now ventured into the world of clear-mounted rubber! I gave all my other blocks away! I had my stamping mentor over for a stamping date in October and she has added it to her sale-a-bration list for this year!
In the interest of full disclosure, I do have to fix the case occasionally, where it should hook the case together when opening and closing. Chanda said it perfectly: I have it, I love it, I use it!! I would absolutely buy this again.
