Question Marigold Morning? Orchids? and more...

HEY EVERYONE...

A couple quick questions I have....

I have been asked to design wedding invitations for a friend of mine, and I am very excited... her colour scheme is interesting... and I want to play with it. Her flowers are WHITE ROSES, TANGELLOW ORCHIDS and lil FUSCHIA gerber daisies.... interesting combo. May make a card or something inspired by these colours... LOL!

#1 -- However, I am curious to what SU stamps match ORCHIDS... ha ha! Is the flower from the DELIGHT IN LIFE set considered an orchid? I have to check my mom's stamp stash, and my own for that matter... and I have to sit down to look at the new catty, and try to match clip art I have of orchids... but I was just curious if anyone here knew. (Or let me know of a stamp set you know of that would be considered an ORCHID - or a beautiful ROSE, or a GERBER DAISY for that matter.)

#2 -- TANGELLOW... (spelling unsure), its a new colour in the world of design... It's a mix between orange and yellow, or tangerine and yellow.... what would the closest match in SU colours be? Lightening Only orange a little... or I was checking out past IN COLOUR designs, and saw MARIGOLD MORNING. I am interested in purchasing a MARIGOLD MORNING... I have to check with my SU demo first, but if anyone has one for sale, and maybe some CS that would be great. (A SU Marker would rock too!!) LOL! (I will add a thread to the Buy/Sell/Trade, or check out some of the ones for sale already--- the wedding is not for a while. But I want to play... and maybe create some SAVE the DATE cards or something...

THANKS SO MUCH!!

Blessings, and Happy Stampin'!

Regarding #2 Marigold Morning looked an awful lot like Summer Sun - I want to say it looked lighter to me. And since Marigold Morning has been retired for 8 months or so now you may run into trouble finding enough cardstock. Since it was an In Color there were no markers available. I can tell this is going to be a really tough color to match. If she were using Pastel colors I would say Apricot Appeal easily, but SU! doesn't really have a bright tangello color...

It might be harder to find cardstock that matches since reinkers can be combined to get a more customized color.

Once you get the color "right" you can use Cut-N-Dry foam (by Ranger) to make a stamp pad. If you want a watercolor effect you could use baby wipes and add your "customized blend" of reinkers.

And, the Gerbera daisy sold by TAC (The Angel Company) is beautiful.

What a great idea about mixing reinkers....it would have never crossed my mind to do anything like that.

I mix reinkers all the time as not even SU has all the colors I need. I keep a piece of scratch paper handy so I can write down how many drops of each color I used so I can make more. I'm like a mad scientist in a lab when it comes to ink.

Default orchids

I am also looking for orchids. In the 2002-2003 catalogue is a beautiful stamp called "Stipple Orchid" - I'd love to locate that. What luck have you had?
