I have a cousin in California who has very kindly offered to pick up some stamps etc from Michaels for me.... but I have no idea what their prices are like as they don't seem to advertise them on their website. I know they sell some stamps for a $ and I'm guessing it's luck of the draw what you will find in that bin (although I'd really like the pregnant lady one!) but what about ink pads etc? If anyone can give me an idea as to the range of stamps and ink pads they sell and their costs, I'd really appreciate it. Then I've got to find out how much shipping will be... !
The Cuttlebug is $80 and you need to buy the dies/embossing folders that you like. Michaels here doesn't carry much of a selection. An extra set of B plates is suggested.
I can't tell you anything about their stamp selection because I never look at those. I do know they carry Hero Arts and I think PSX.
They have inkpads from dollar cheapies up to, um maybe $17. The latter would be the ColorBox petal point pads.
Coupons are the WTG at Michaels, especially for the initial 'bug purchase.
I just bought a Stayzon at Michaels and it was around $7. I've looked at their stamps and they run from the $1 ones (which, yes, are hit and miss in what you find) all the way to sets that are around $30. I don't really buy many stamps there, other than the $1 ones. I have been given stamps sets from Michaels and they are fine. Ours doesn't have too many stamp images to pick from. Michaels ads, when they come out (ours in non-holiday times seem to be every other week) have 40% and sometimes 50% off coupons. We can use two coupons here, I don't know if all Michaels lets you do that but ours does, so I usually use a coupon for anything I buy. The tombo tape, for the refill, is about $3, the complete one is a little under $7. They have some very cool paper slabs (way nicer than they used to have) and not on sale, they are $19. But you get a bunch of decorated paper in them, and stickers and cut outs now too. They have a nice selection of brads and eyelets and that kind of fun stuff, and they range from about $2.00 to $5-6 depending on what you are looking at. And I like their brads and eyelets, haven't had any real problems with them. They also have the lunch boxes and other metal containers and they run about $6 not on sale and without the coupon. Anything else?? Mary
Wow - loads of info! Thanks Mary. The paper blocks sound nice, and I love brads! Do they sell ribbon? The coupons... how do you get them? Do they just drop through your door with the junk mail? I'm wondering whether my cousin might get them too! Sorry for all the questions... I wish you could shop online there so I could see for myself!
Yes, they carry ribbon, ranging from $1.00 (usually 3-4 yards) on up. They have alot of nice ribbon for $1.99 (again 3-4 yards) and all kinds from grossgrain to organza to satin, etc.
The coupons usually comes in the Sunday newspaper.
Happy shopping!
Nancy

You can get coupons in the mail too, but you have to register with Michaels. I don't know if you can do it online or if you have to go in the store for that.
I would say the average price for stamp pads is $5-$7. And they carry colorbox and Stayz-On. Stamps range from $5 to $30 but they run them on sale for 30% or even 40% off at times. Their selections is not the best, but it's better than nothing!
They carry the American Craft packs of ribbon (6 styles, 2 ft of each) for $6. They do have lots of fun other ribbon too. That's another thing that goes on sale frequently.
