I have read a lot of threads about people liking the mono adhesive best for their card making. Is that stronger holding than double sided tape? Is it cheaper than double sided tape?
I find that while I like the ease of using the mono adhesive it doesn't hold near as well as the double sided tape.
I prefer mono, as I think it is much easier and handier to use. When I apply it and attach whatever I need to tape down, I just smooth over it with my hand to make sure it is "stuck".
It really is a personal preference, though. I know a lot of people prefer double-stick tape, because they like how it sticks right away and you don't have to smooth it with your hand.
I prefer double sided tape for my cards. For my scrapbooking I use the vario/hermafix tabs. The only thing I've found that holds better than those tabs are the CM tabs (not sure what they are called now) but they actually hold TOO well. I can gently and slowly remove a vario tab without tearing the paper, but that is almost impossible with the CM tabs. I've been scrapbooking for 8 1/2 years, and I've never had anything fall apart that I made with the vario tabs. Also, when I was redoing my wedding album, I realized that was where I had originally used my one and only mono adhesive, and as I took things apart, the mono was turning yellow.

I use both mono and double sided tape. It depends what I'm sticking together. Just putting two small pieces of card stock together, mono does fine, but anything bulky required double sided tape. I get the double sided tape at Sam's Club for a great price.
I voted "other" -- I like mono because it's so neat (non-messy) and easy to use, but I'm disappointed at its lack of stick. I have a whole basket of various adhesives and I go between them all. Glue sticks are messy, but they stick well. I also use white PVC glue if I really want a good bond.

Love my glue stick! Second is the mono. If I am covering a journal, or making a small box, sour cream containter, etc, gotta have the sticky strip, or double sided tape. I have found that some batches of mono are great, others don't stick worth anything. Not sure why.
i have found that mono doesnt stick as well as tape. if im in a hurry, or making things in bulk, i go with tape. if i have time, i use a quality glue stick. for scrapbooking, i use glue dots. i LOVE glue dots!
I noticed many of the things I had made a few months ago with mono had started falling apart. I switched to Scotch double sided tape and it works great! Not as easy to use, but at least I know they won't fall apart.

I like the ease of mono tape but not its lack of tackiness. I have started using Scotch double sided tape on my cards. It takes a little more time than mono but it sticks much better. I have received swap cards that are falling apart by the time they reach me and I am sure it's the mono. I sure don't want to be sending cards out to family & friends that fall apart.
I use the mono on edges and fill in the rest with glue stick. I've noticed the mono falling off after time too. Now I get the fast placement of mono and the longer lasting (and cheapness!) of glue sticks!
