Question Mother's Day Accordion Book?

Can anyone give me their thoughts or experience on Accordion Book Kits. I would really like to do one of these as a project for Mother's Day. Are they easy to put together? What other things do you need to make them look cute? Do you like the Saddle Stich Book or the Accordion? Are the pages big enough for normal size pictures to be put on them? Thanks!

I like the Saddle Stitch book better because it holds larger photos, but neither will hold a 4x6 photo without cropping.

You can also make accordion books with a 12x12 sheet of paper. Cut it into 4 inch strips and score at 4 inches. Overlap the last 4x4 with the first 4x4 of the second strip and adhere (I use double stick tape from Scotch and it hold perfectly). Repeat for the third strip. Accordion them so they go back and forth. I like to have mine start and stop with the same side, so I trim off the last 4x4 and use it in the book when I need a small piece. This is such an inexpensive way to make them.
