Default Mounting Fresh Fruits

I was wondering if anyone has mounted their Fresh Fruits set and has mounted the stems separately from the pear, apple and cherry stamps. This makes more sense to me but I don't want to screw up my stamps!

I mounted mine together. I didn't separate the stems. The only ones I have used so far is the orange slice and the pear. I was able to stamp the pear in one color and the stem in chocolate chip without messing the colors up. I never even thought to separate them until I was stamping! But I figure I can always use my markers

Default fresh fruit stems

hi Lisa-

I did mount my fruit stem-less. I liked the option of having the stems a different color, or having fruit with no stems at all. I agree, it did seem just a little scarey- and even somewhat wrong to modify the stamp artist's intentions...but after that first snip-snip I didn't reqret it in the least. Remember to adjust your label to indicate the change.

I'm a demo, and I express to my customers that once they purchase the stamp from SU, it is theirs to cut and mount in their own prefered way. Some people seemed to be empowered by the thought of it.

I've customized other SU stamps in this way before: Stars & Swirls (pg 174) was my first try at this technique...it really opened up new possibilities for this set. Think about what you want to accomplish and then do it.

Default I did

I mounted all mine seperately! Now I can add whichever stem I'd like and not have to mask, omit or use my markers unless I want to.

I received mine after the other discussions about mounting. I mounted mine on the same block, but did cut the stems off. I mounted the fruit as close to the bottom as possible, and the stem as close to the top as possible. They are easy to ink, and easy to position.

I mounted mine as one. I just used the cherry for my DC Seminar swaps and just colored with the markers. This way I can shade and get more than one color, *huff* and stamp away.

Default stem

I mounted my together, was not happy with them that way. Now they are apart and I am once again happy.

So, did most of you separate them, but mount them on the same wood block? Or did you use different blocks for the stem? I can see making the stem a vinyl cling stamp so you can see where to put it once the fruit is down. Mine should be coming in about a week, I think.

THAnks,
Lori

I cut my stems off. I mounted them on the same block with the exception of the cherry. It won't fit on the side of the block so I mounted it with the pineapple. Not my choice just where it fit.

I amputate my stamps ALL THE TIME!
I mounted the putt-putt exhaust from Spring in Paris separately
same with the seagulls from the Seaside Sketches wader
and the little bird on the wheelbarrow in LoveYa Bunches
In the coffee set I even separated and side-mounted(like the double alpha) one coffee bean and one coffee cup from the border!
for me it's easier to add than to mask
I also double mount whole alphabets that "go together"
like Collage and Crazy and save the blocks for my extra pieces

I mounted my stems on the ends. I use the stemless cherry to make a cluster of grapes!!!
