I am going to my SU! class on Friday night and I will place an order. What are the Must-Have! sets that you recommend I order from the retirement list? I don't want to regret not buying something now before it goes sky high on Ebay!!! Thanks for your input!
I am buying All In A Row - have been putting it off for over a year so now is the time for me to buy it. I like the zig-zag that looks like stitches. I love the faux-stitched look.
I think Peaceful Wishes is a "must have". It's very versitile.
I also think the Flannel Plaid background is going to serve me well for many years. I'd get it if I didn't already have it.
The one thing I'm going to get, that I don't have, is the French Flair bg., I've just always wanted it and it'll go up in value (so I'd never buy it later)!
For some reason, I've had Never Ending Joy on my wish list for YEARS, so I might have to get it. OTOH, it's been on my wish list for years and I never got around to buying it, so maybe I don't really want it that badly...hmmm.
I say Flannel Plaid background and Noble Deer. Noble Deer is great for masculine cards and Flannel Plaid works great with so many things ... I use it a lot more than I thought I would!
The only set that is tempting me from the retiring list is Noble Deer. But.....since I haven't purchased it in the 4 years I've been buying SU, I'm not sure that I *need* it.
I am getting Peaceful Wishes, and the 3 background stamps that I have wanted, but I always bought sets instead, weathered, print pattern and flannel plaid.

Noble Deer is the only one I might have to get. Even though nobody in my family hunts it's still a great set for masculine cards. I have Flannel Plaid and I have to say I love it, if you don't have it get it.
I'm gonna add that All in a Row is worth the $ just for the stitching stamp. If you don't have it and you like that look, don't miss it.
I forgot about Weathered too, a definite addition to a collection. There will always be a nature set somewhere that the Weathered background will enhance.
I am going to get Greetings Galore. It has been on my list forever. I can see where you could separate the words and make it more versatile. I also like the Asian one but will probably pass. Noble Deer is a great set to get for use on masculine cards

Thanks everyone! I'm going to check out Peaceful Wishes again and maybe the Weathered background. I already have Noble Deer. the flannel BG, and greetings galore. Always so much to buy and not enough money.
Ok, you ladies have me confused now. I was all set for a garage sale and put stamps in it that I haven't used for I don't know how long, and it's the one's you said to get - Noble Deer, and Peaceful Wishes.
I am going to try to get rid of some, well a lot. I am doing some big cleaning. I was going to ask a fair price to put on them for a sale, but, now I'm thinking about keeping them. I'm so confused!!!

you'll probably never get what they're worth at a garage sale!

I agree. You'd do much better to hang on to them till they are retired and then sell them on evilbay or post them in the BST forum here. The yard salers "wont know from stamping" and will not give you your best price.
I've had Noble Deer for years and have used it plenty. It's pretty unique - the only other deer is in Wildlife Reserve and it's retiring, too. I'd like to think they might come out with a new deer set, but when they retired the pheasant set a few years ago (wildfowl?) they didn't replace it with anything.
I also agree with getting Peaceful Wishes. I think it's the best Christmas/winter set they've ever had.
If you advertise your "garage sale" as a scrapbook/stamping sale you will get people that know the value of items but you still will not get alot for them. I just made 500.00 at my own scrapbook/stamping sale at my home and another 175.00 at the stamp store sale. I still have alot of stuff left that are big ticket items so I might try putting them on ebay as a garage box.
As for my items that might be worth something in the long run I would say the french flair, backgrounds print, flannel and weathered, artfully asian, peaceful wishes, happy camper, noble deer and wild life reserve. But if I bought them to resell later on and make a little money I would probably loose money.
I just ordered Artfully Asian... it's been on my wishlist for ages and I just can't let it pass by. I almost ordered Unfroggetable as well, but my budget wouldn't let me. If I didn't already have them I would definately look at Peaceful Wishes and Print Pattern BG.
