Default My artist son

My husband is encouraging me to find out about making our own stamps. My son is an artist, and we would like to find out where we might be able to have his images made into stamps. I have done some through the local printing company, but would like a more professional type of stamp made ... like those in SU or other companies. Does anyone have any suggestions. Perhaps even mass produced if they are well received.

Go to your locale stamp store. I had a stamp made once. The price was out of sight but I needed it for A friend.

you might want to approach some of the smaller companies. take a look at your sons style and match up to some of the interent companies and then ask them if they are looking for new artists to design stamps.

Any ideas on smaller reputable stamping companies online? I have done searching, but not sure what companies are considered good and reputable.

I know places like Office Depot makes can order custom stamps - usually lined text with a small logo. Maybe you can inquire with them if they know how to get artwork made into a stamp.

What I see missing in the market is stamp sets for teens and young adults. So many stamp sets are geared toward little kids, or preteens. My older kids like receiving cards and things from me, and stamping too. They are "missed" in a lot of stamp companies. A lot of stampers have kids that will be teens and young adults if they don't already.

Things he enjoys drawing and that others love that he does ...

fairies
sword fighters
dragons
and many more..

Actually he can make anything I challenge him to. His brother's girlfriend asked him to design a tatoo for her the other day. Someone else asked him to paint a wall mural for their business. He made my husband a beautiful chalk drawing of Mary and baby Jesus for Christmas last year. It remains on our mantel.

What a terrific idea. I'd say he might need an agent to sell his artwork, but I'm not sure. Sounds like he would be great at designing book covers as well. I'd look into talent agencies around your area and see if you can find anybody that specializes in that type of thing. Maybe have him look at some stamp designs and find some that he admires, and then try to get in contact with the designer if at all possible. Maybe somebody would mentor him. How exciting! Keep us posted!
