My clear Sakura Stardust pen died!
I just got some of these pens for Christmas and LOVE them! I was using one at a stamp camp on Sunday and it stopping working. I tried all the tricks of scribbling in circles, wetting the tip, etc. What else can I do to get it working again? It's obvious that there is a TON of ink left in it. I think I read something about putting it in the freezer? Can that be right?
You can always try throwing it at something hard (not a person or anything breakable)--it won't help the pen write, but it might make you feel better! (Absolutely just joking):-D
I got a pack of 2 when I got mine and one of them didn't/doesn't work either. I was pretty bitter because I really wanted them! At least I have one that still works!
I would send an e-mail to Sakura if you can't return it to the store you bought it from. You never know, some companies are very good about making sure you are happy with their product. Always include your address so they can mail you out a new one. I recommend a little note that just assumes that they will stand behind their product.

You might try heating the writing tip up a bit -- use a lighter or a match. That usually gets gel pens working again if it's just the tip that's being a pain. I'd definitely call or email Sakura though 'cause it's way too new to not work.

That's a good idea to call Sakura. I got the pens for Christmas and am pretty sure they were purchased on ebay. I got a pack of 2 and so far the second one is ok, but it hasn't been used very much yet. This was one of my favorite little gifts at Christmas and I'm crushed that one quit working. I'll let you know what happens!
I've soaked the tips of some of my pens in alcohol - just a small drop - and it's been enough to get them going again... heating also works wonders too.. just don't overheat or you will melt the pen part.. just a quick flash or two in a lighter or match flame
I had that happen last year, and I tried heating it. It wasn't like other pens. It came out like crazy afterwards. I haven't completely read this thread, but you could try storing it vertically for a bit.
I've had to put several of my Stardust pens in a cup over night to sit with the point down. They were not working, but I could see there was alot of ink still in them. After sitting overnight, they are working perfectly again. Next time I might try the heat method for a quicker solution.

I always store my gel pens vertically, so that's not it. I did try it again this morning and it seems to be working for now. I'll have to remember the "heating" tip (no pun intended - lol!) for if it fails again. I probably won't call Sakura now either unless it dies again very soon. Thanks again for all of the suggestions!!!
