I just ordered it too! I have worked with special needs kids and downs syndrome are my favorite! I love them so much. They have hearts of gold and are angels in my book. Tell Alexa we are all rooting for her recovery. Can you imagine having your own stamp set? What a lucky little girl. I bet she just beams when she thinks about it. What a special little girl!
Ladies, My name is Mindy and I am one half of Turtle Girl Designs.......the organization that is working to raise funds for pediatric cancer research, awareness and patient/family support. I have been waiting to post on this thread until I had composed myself enough to get a proper thank you out to Melissa Bastow for doing such a FABULOUS job of designing this stamp set in honor of Alexa and for her generous offer of support for Turtle Girl Designs and our fundraising efforts.
The response we are seeing to Alexa's set is AMAZING. I have been brought to tears many times by your words and support through purchasing this set.
My friend and fellow TurtleGirl, Stephanie Blashcke, lost her 18 month old daughter, Dani, to complications of the treatment of Lymphoma on March 7 of this year. Stephanie had always collected turtles for little Dani and after her death we were searching for a way to give back to all those who reached out during her fight and all those that worked so very hard to save her. It was during this time that Turtle Girl Designs was born. We have met many fabulous people over the last few months. Lauren, Alexa and Melissa are a few of the many we have met. I am working on getting a blog started until our website is up and running. As Lauren posted, if you will email me at [email protected] I will be happy to send you more information about our organization and some of the kids like Alexa and Jake (my avitar) that we are fighting for!

My heart goes out to all of the children and families that have to go thru this. Buying a stamp set or sending a card, or whatever, is the least we can do to help.
Ara this is too funny You have a daughter Alexa and a son Noah-I have Alexa almost 7 and Noah is 3 1/2! You don;t have an Amber on the way do you?
Hi, that is too funny! I think we've chatted before about this, maybe not, but I recall the Amber question. I don't have an Amber, but that name was on top of our name list for girls. Very nice childrens names ;) No more on the way for me.

Wow! What a splendid idea! I can only imagine the happiness in your heart over Alexa's progress, as well as seeing this set in her honor! Thanks for letting us know about this. It needs to be shared many times over.
O my gosh!! I cannot believe this, so is so amazingly cool that this is happening. It really brought tears to my eyes when I read about this. I will definitely get one! This is so heart warming to hear. I emailed Mindy on how I can help her organization.

You never know when something like this will happen to someone you know and love.
I have wanted to do something, anything, since Alexa got diagnoised. To think that something I love to do can turn and make a difference in the lives of other is amazing. Thank you for joining me in making that dream possible.
Words cannot express the wonderful feeling I have with this new adventure. God puts us all on a path for a reason. Since he placed Alexa in my womb my life was forever changed. Because of her I have met people I would never meet, do things I never thought possible, feel ways I never felt, be stronger than I ever wanted to be, and most importantly- truly understand the unconditional love a mother has for her child, and the depths that love can carry you to.

ok someone please help me find this set! I go to the page and click on stamps and scroll down and I don't see any stamps with princesses or butterfies... does it have a name????

hmm that's wierd - when I go to her site (via your link) I'm at the main page - then I click on products/stamp sets (has the baby image) and the very first set is Alexa's set! The sassy girls set is under that. I don't know why you can't see it:confused:
I just read this post and boy I ordering mine asap. I am new to scs and I love all you stampers. Mytime you touch my heart everyday. I have two little glamour princess myself and I can not wait to tell them about your beautiful daughter and why I purchased this stamp set. What a great cause. I do not know you, but you and your family are often in my thoughts. I pray for you and your family. I know in my heart you are a wonderful person, with such strength and you have instilled that in your daughter. She looks like a fighter and nothing can take that sparkle away from her. I will be proud to use this stamp set !! Give your daughter Hugs and Kisses and tell her thank you.

Even without the tears I am crying I would want this set because it is so cute! As soon as our finances come around I am buying this set. The kids can wear last years shoes!

I am not sure where they sell it for wood mounting. I'm sure if you call them they can let you know. I knwo you can probally get it online. I hope someone can help with this issue.

I've never seen it at Michaels - we don't have Joanne's up here. You can find it on e-bay tho - just do a search - I've seen it for pretty cheap. HTH!
