I'm really going to miss her. I'll still be able to stay in touch with her personally, but it's too far for stamp parties. Now what do I do? How am I going to be able to get stampin' stuff?
Can she recommend a local demo for you so you can still enjoy stamp parties? That's what I did when I quit demoing a year ago. I gave my customers two names of demos that I felt were good and whose style I thought they would like.
maybe post where your are from and someone on here could help you out. I live in a ruel town also...now a demo but before I become one most people just found a demo in other towns.......If I were you I would do what I did....become the demo for your area....I did it back in August only knowing a few people who used stampin up....guess what they told a friend and they told a friend, and so on. Now I have a pretty amazing client base.

Sign up! Go for it! You have a customer base already if you were hosting parties. Maybe you will just get a discount and meet your minimums OR maybe this can be a business for you! You decide. If you are going to stay in contact with your demo anyway, she can be your upline and help you get started. That being said, I have to do a brief hijack on this thread though and tell you to consider checking out your options. I was going to do SU! but decided TAC was better for me after researching. It is a personal thing, I know. Just a suggestion. I am so glad I looked into ALL options.
You can do it! Let us know if you are considering it, and what you decide. This could be an exciting opportunity for you (IF you are up for it).

It's hard to loose your demo when you love seeing them. Onother method is searching on the SU site under Demo Locator to find those nearest you. Or as aomeone mentioned you could sign up and take over the customer base your demo has left and enjoy the perks of being a demo (there are some great ones for new demo's next month!)
I hope you can find a new demo you love just as much even if that demo is you ;)

Is it at all possible for you to become a Demo under her? She could still support you even from afar and you could host stampin' events of your own with other stampers in your area.
Where are you located? Maybe you could search the demo locater. I agree with Risa when she said to SIGN UP! What a GREAT opportunity for you to earn some extra money or get your things cheaper! Let us know how it goes!

(okay, I know I made up that word...but it fits so nice in the song lyrics...teehee!)
When that happened to me 8 1/2 years ago, I signed up and have never regretted it! I have sidelines and downline in the area to stamp with and of course my SCS friends.
If you go to the Stampin UP webside, and insert your zip code, you will get demos in the area. Send an email to all of them, telling them what you are looking for. See what you get back, in terms of classes offered, stamp clubs, etc...You may even want to get to know more than one! Good luck! :-D

I have long distance demo's and totally adore them! I would love to do stamp camps or classes too so maybe they'll have to move to Utah!!!

I feel your pain! I don't like change either! I had a similar issue but it was me who moved away from my demo (sniff, sniff!) I still place orders through her and go to parties/classes when she has them on weekends (since I'm now 4 hours away) and occasionally have given her extra money to ship the order to me after she gets it (silly, I know, but I struggle with instant gratification!) I just can't seem to make the change or become affiliated with a local demo...
that happened to me, too....I became VERY good friends with my demo. We met at a spouses social and I mentioned to a friend that this lady was an SU demo (having absolutely NO IDEA what that meant) so after that my friend turned over every stone until she found this wonderful person and booked a WS. So, being the nice friend that I am and because my friend always had good snacks, I went to the party and my jaw dropped to the floor when ink met paper and I was totally hooked! Became very good friends with the demo, as I already said and when she moved a couple years later I missed her so much that when she tempted me with "if you sign up as a demo, we can go to convention together" I finally caved in and did it. That was 5 years ago and I have never looked back! Because she had established herself in the area, I knew many stampers here and they, like me, were without a demo so it was a very easy transition for me and I haven't missed a convention yet...unfortunately, she had to miss convention this past summer due to her dad needing heart surgery which couldn't wait but I have enough friends within the demo group that I still had fun. Can't wait for this year, though....love those conventions!!! Jan
Shaula, I just became a demo because mine is going inactive. (She has 5 kids and has gone back to college full-time.) Think about it for awhile; maybe it will make sense in your situation too. Good luck!
Thanks everyone for your replies and kind encouragement. It's really not a good time right now for me to become a demo. I think I will try to use the demo locator on SU's website.
