I am practicing using the back of index cards I found at the dollar store. This is my first attempt, I used Prisma premium pencils and Mona Lisa 100% odorless mineral spirits from Michael's instead of Gamsol. Not bad for a beginner! I actually impressed myself, LOL. :p Next time I'd like to try something different with the birds. It'll be fun to play around with this.
Thanks to both of you. Janette, I'm not sure yet if I'll put it into a card. I want to practice a little more...with different colors and practice my shading a bit. I was very surprised at how easy this was. I love the soft look of the colors, with this technique.
Great job! I bought the LARGE set of Prisma pencils years ago when Viking was still in business...with coupons and sales, I only paid $15 for the set, but I haven't even sharpened them, yet! I afraid to do it!! Guess I just need to dive right in and give it a try...thanks for the 'push'!
This technique is so much fun. Now that I discovered it, I do it often. I had problems at first and some helpful folks here pointed out that I should make sure I was using a high quality cardstock. I found some at my local paper store with a super smooth finish. It does make it easier to move the colors around. Just wanted to pass along the hint.

I bought all the supplies but haven't had the time to try it yet. Using index cards is great way to practice and not use up my more expensive paper. Thanks for the tip!

Oh, hey, there, Beverly! Didn't realize you had posted to this thread! Yes, it does seem that way, doesn't it? Just think of the stamping we could do if you were still here!
