Default My First Candle!! HELP?????

Hi,

I made my first candle today. I'm having problems with it melting too much. I heated a little took the heat off, heated a little took took the heat off, etc. I'm still getting runs. What am I doing wrong?? Thank you for any solutions you can give.

Merry Christmas,
Michelle

I like to use waxed paper while I heat the images, just tape one end down, roll tightly and heat until you see the tissue disappear. Then allow 15 seconds or so to cool and peel off. HTH!

Do you put the wax paper around the entire candle or just hold a piece tightly around where you are heating???

Thank you,
Michelle

I place a piece over the entire candle, taped (where there is no image) at one end and held taut by my other hand while I heat. HTH!

Something else to try :
I wrap wax paper all the way around and bunch it behind and hold both ends. Works perfectly ! Hope you post the finished product !

Thank you both. I will try it on the next one. I went ahead and gave the 1st one as a gift she love it. I tried to post a pic to this post, but I can't get my pictures sized to get below that 640 x 480 thingy that pops up everytime.I make my pic smaller it still comes up. I'm size illeterate I guess!! LOL!! I will post a pic to my gallery. I have no problem posting pics there. I believe it resizes them for you. I wish it would do the same in the attachment part. Thanks again

Thank you,
Michelle

Thank you so much!! I used the Sparkle Mod Podge Decoupage glue to make the glittery look. I put on two coats after I heat set the tissue. I really used to try to cover up the few runs that I got!!!! LOL!!
