I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for a fun, unique name for a stamping group at a church...
a friend at another church started a group for scrapbooking once a month (although some bring stamping/card making things to do), and they call it "Scrap 'N Chat" -- basically it's for ladies fellowship.
we want to focus on Stamping/Card Making, so we're trying to come up with a catchy name. we will have 'community' supplies for new stampres who don't have their own things yet (or not many things), or people can just bring their projects and supplies and just have fun being with other ladies.
(if it was scrapbooking, my hubby said to call it "Holy Scrap"! )
thanks!
Kim

We call our card-making small group "Paper Nets." The reference is Jesus' request to follow him and he will make us "fishers of men." We fish for people with paper cards; hence the name. Just an idea.

Hello Kim...
I just noticed that this is your very first message posted in the forums (there is a little number below each of our names). Welcome to Splitcoast. This is a really fun place to go "surfing" for card ideas. But be careful -- it's habit forming. I think I spend more time surfing than stamping.

That is so funny.

You could use wheels and call yourself the "Holy Rollers"! Sorry, bad joke. Welcome to splitcoast, Kim! Where in NH are you? I used to live in the Manchester area, but DH and I relocated to NC 10 years ago.

Are the cards for personal use or the church's use? Reason I ask - a friend of mine has asked me to teach a stamping group at our church, but all the cards we make would be made available for the church to use. Like, after a prayer meeting someone could grab a card and mail it to someone we prayed for or something.
We haven't started yet, but she's already named it - the Barnabas Project. Since Barnabas' name means "Encourager" and all that.
And come to think of it, it doesn't really matter if the cards are for personal or church use, does it? If you're making cards with the point of encouraging people with them, then it works regardless!
So far, nothing I've come up with sounds good. Thought about "Ink & Drink", but that sounds like you are at a bar, not a church! Then "The Rubber Room" sprang to mind, but then your sanity might be questioned ...
Okay, more appropriate might be "Stampin' Sisters" or "Stampin' Friends" or "Inker's Link". I haven't had coffee yet, so maybe I'll be more creative later.

thank you for welcoming me to the site... I just signed up with an account, but having been lurking and browsing for a while after a friend told me about the site. I have already spent WAY too much time on here on a few occasions! lol
there are some wonderful samples here and I love how they are sorted by the name of the stamp set. stamping is a fun and satisfying hobby, though if you're not careful, it can be expensive. my friend(s) and I are hoping to make a bunch of cards and get a table at one of the local Christmas craft fairs on a Saturday in November or December (or maybe both) and make a little money. of course, it will most likely just go right back into buying stamps!
(p.s. I grew up in Concord, NH, but now live in Surry, NH.)

our church has a group that makes cards for those who are unable to leave their home for whatever reason to come to mass, etc. and they call their group "stampin' angels."

I tried that at my church and we called ourselves: Sunshine stampers, because hopefully we brought a little sunshine to others through our cards.
We also set up at a craft show around Halloween and sold little cello bags full of goodies with stamped header bags. Also, If you run your cardstock through your printer, you can put whatever Bible verses on it you want and then stamp and make card sets to sell. Hope you have a great time of fellowship and sharing in this wonderful artform. God can use our talents in anyway we let Him. ))
