Default Need advice please

how do I stamp the pine cone over the pine bow so that you can't see the pine bow thru the cone? I have tried embossing with pigment ink by stampabilities, masking...but I am not happy with the results. I do not want to cut out the pinecone, that would be much too time consuming for the amount of cards that I am planning on doing. Does anyone know if dark brown embossing powder would be any better? Or will you see thru that too? I don't even know if anyone sells brown embossing powder

I'm not sure why masking doesn't work, but I would use brown pigment/craft ink and clear embossing powder if you are looking for that color to emboss. You can buy one of those tiny pigment pads in brown. I just did to stamp and flock monkeys. Hope that helps. - Gay Howe

I also think that masking or cutting are the only way to go! There are lots of brown embossing powders on the market.

Could you emboss the pine cone after you have stamped the pine bough, then it will be solid enough not to see through. That is what I did on this card

If you need to do the cone first I would mask it with a very closely cut mask so the pine actually touches the cone. Good luck!

Thanks everyone, the reason why masking did not look good is, because the pine bough did not stamp all the way to the pine cone, maybe I will try to cut the mask a little smaller. I tried embossing with stampabilities pigment ink (walnut color) and clear EP. I embossed after I had stamped the pine bough and you could see the pine bough right thru. Does anyone know if the SU craft pads are a whole lot better?

kitcat, those pine cones are beautiful, could you tell me what kind of embossing powder you used and what color? I am so frustrated, this is such a beautiful set and I really want to make it work.
