Need all brutally honest opinions...
I have never posted a card for scrutiny before and it is a very scary thought but here goes...
I spent the better part of the weekend (well, when I wasn't at the most awesome Kenny Chesney concert in the whole world or **heaven** as I call it, sorry for the momentary loss of focus) practicing using my Coluzzle that I have had for several months. Someone on this site encouraged me to just practice with it and try it so I did and I am glad to say that I got the hang of it! Well, I made some cards with all kinds of ovals on them. I have never made cards with "roundness" to them so it was a little weird for me.
I made this one card with the Unfrogettable set to give to a stamping friend for her birthday, made the envelope to match got it all sealed up, addressed it and even stamped it but now I can't send it because after I ripped it open to look at it again I just think it might be a tacky card afterall and I was crazy for making it and then I take another look and think it's pretty cute?!?!
So, I would LOVE to know what everyone else thinks of it. Please be honest and help my 2 personalities come together on this card and decide whether or not I need to make a new envelope and put it in the mail or start over:confused: !
THANKS!
Great card!! Trust your instincts! I like the ovals you did, it gave the card a nice composition. I like the froggies looking at the dragonfly and wish fits perfectly and yes, I do adore the lashes and will CASE those for sure!! TFS....great job!

Who talks good but has yet to post a card so I get your hesitancy
Dude, you are wwaaayyyyy to hard on yourself! it is a super-fun, eclectic, energetic, vibrant, awesome card!!!!! Make sure you spell the name of my street right when you address that envelope! ;) ;)
I think you did a great job on this! I also had to validate you because I am a huge Kenny fan, too. I knew if your music taste was so superior, your stamping skills would match!!
I love what you did with the ovals! The layout totally works for me too. The brown seems strong. I wonder what it would look like if it were pink? JMHO
At the risk of being even more unpopular than I already am I'm going to go ahead and give you my brutally honest opinion. Before anyone starts the slash and burn just remember it is only an opinion and to each his own. And who knows.. maybe my monitor just make it look different.
I am not a big fan of this card. To me it is too busy and my eye just doesn't know where to rest. I think the problem stems from the brown layer. It is very bold and I feel like it overpowers everything else. The poor little frog that is suppose to be the focal point gets lost. If this were my card and I was looking to 'fix' it I'd try some of the following: First I'd try switching the brown layer with the blue layer. The blue flowers aren't quite as bold and might make a good frame around the delicate frog. If that didn't work I'd try leaving things as they are but putting a solid brown layer under the frog piece cutting it the same shape and slightly larger than the frog piece so that it acted as a frame and separated the frog from the busy pattern brown. Next I'd try dumping the brown and replacing it with the same solid green used in the outer frame.
I do like your choice of shapes and the way you anchor it all together with the ribbon.
I love it! Very cute card and perfect just the way it is!

It is so cute. I really like it, the way your post read I thought I was in for a surprise and I was surprised!!!! It is very, very cute, put it in the mail, silly!
It's actually really cute! The only thing I might consider changing is making the brown layer under the frog solid to help tone down the "busy-ness" of the card because like longtimestamper said it is kind of overpowering the adorable frog and dragonfly.
Better get started on that new envelope!

Now I am embarrassed by all the replies...so stop!!!!!!!! Really I feel bad...and very lucky to be involved/associated, whatever with such an honest, knowledgable group of people!
I mean I can only make my husband look at this card so many times before he runs to the garage, so he is thanking you all, too!!!
Now I have to make a bunch more to send you all of you!

*ROFL* Laughter is precious, and almost makes up for your part in my decision to go get a coluzzle starter kit from Mikes. I am still going to give my dh a chance to talk some sense into me (maybe).
I agree with the poster that said it is too busy. I would leave off the blue flowers by the frog. I was told by an art teacher that every other layer should be very understated where pattern is concerned or else unpatterned even. I like the color combo and the idea behind it. Just could not figure out where to focus.

I was thinking the same thing about it that it was just too much but then I was thinking that it was kind of whimsical and silly so the busyness (is that a word?) was ok and that since it is not my "style" then that is why I was so critical but it is interesting to see that others have the same thoughts!
I don't know but I am so glad that everyone is so nice and honest and I REALLY appreciate it
A little busy, but I think the oval matting is very creative. I love the image, but it does remind me of a valentine's card the way the eyelashes are making the frog look all dreamy at the dragonfly. But I don't know your friend. She may love these little critters in any "pose". Overall, the card is very cute!
Ok, my first thought, and you all know I am somewhat insane... I would keep the ovals going the same way. Larger oval up and down, smaller oval up and down. Or both horizontal. That would counter the detail of the card, which is what you really want the person to focus on, and is adorable, creative and very very cute.

Stop!! Yeah right....... I'll pm you with my address! (just joshin')
I think it looks great! I am also not good with the colluzzle. I have actually given up on it and I am now using the creative memories cutting system. I know I can't demo with it.. but it just works SO much better!
send that card lady! it's a keeper!
