Lightbulb Need Help with 50th birthday Invite idea!

Hello All,

I have a friend who is doing a 50th birthday party for a friend of hers. She has come to me with help and I have no ideas. She says it is going to be a
"50" theme. I think she is going to have people bring 50 of something as a gift. I have a cricut and a cuddle bug so I can use something like that for her. Any great ideas out there? The only thing I can come up with is to have a bunch of 50's on a card with invite info but I don't know what else to do. I would be much appriciative if someone else could help me.
Thanks,
Shannon

Grab some famous names from that year... the president, the superbowl quarterback, a hot movie star/movie/vocalist/song.... Print it around a border, with the invite information in the center.

Or, pictures of clothing styles....

cut the numbers 50 out of some paper that looks like the styles of the year she was born. you can check eBay for vintage postcards, which will give you an idea of colors and designs. Usually in the 1950s, images are soft, look like they are painted, and are in soft tones.
Dick and Jane were popular. here's a link to their page
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_and_Jane
the little kids are done in what i think of as 'the style of the time'.
'See Jane. Jane is 50. Jane will have a party' could be where the invitations are headed.

you can use old cd's (like freebie computer ones) color them with stazon and make a "record" and have a label on it about "it's my party" or "birthday party" etc. I did something similar for my DH's 40th and printed it on computer - it was before I had the Justrite stampers.
