Default Need your input please

Okay here I am again. Trying to get my January order ready and am now between 2 different alphabets: Headline or Letterpress. Got the rest of my order ready, just gotta figure this last item out.

So tell me, which do you prefer? Why?

I want to start using them in my scrapbooks, and love the narrow width yet the tallness of both fonts.

I voted for Letterpress. I have it, I love it. It is just my style. They are both cute, but I'm glad I went with Letterpress.

I don't have any SU alphas yet but just ordered Headline. I figure that I can use them as std stamped images or cut out the images farily easily. Figured it would be a good all purpose alpha to start with.

Headline it is thicker and easier to cut for name frames plus it was just more bold and less type-writer-ish

I have headline & love it! I use it so much. It's great for almost everything. I am probably going to get Letterpress later. I guess it would depend what you are going to do with it. I think headline works great for name frames, kids & everyday pages. Letterpress I would use if I wanted a more formal look to my scrapbook pages & cards.

I think you will be happy no matter which one you get!

I voted for Headline Alpha. But really, I am under the same dilemma. So I"ll be keeping my eye on this thread too! I like both alphas. And after seeing some super cute things using "tall tales," I really wish I had bought that set too.

I like the letter press better. When I look through my stamp alphabets I am more drawn to the sets with serifs (the little lines at the top and bottom of the letters)

There was an artical our Stampin success magazine that demo's get. It was about using words and alphabets together. They said to get a better look combine letters and words that do and don't have serifs. A good example is the All about you set. The big U is block about 1/2 of the sayings have serifs or more delicate script. I would look at what you have more of in you stamp sets (with serifs, more soft styles, blocky styles) then get the other one.

let us know what you decide

I have headline alpha and am more than pleased with it! It is so versatile. You can do the kissing technique, dress it up, make it casual, etc... I voted for that one. That being said, letterpress is on my wishlist, now too.
Hope that helps! :p

I have the headline set. I just love it. I use it not only in my scrapbooking but have used it in December to make name frames for all my nieces and nephews for the holidays. Of course, I still need to make my own kids their frames. My DH is still nagging me about that.

I voted for Letterpress and here is my reason why:

Peace frame by debbiedesigns

Of course, I also like this frame by bekster and this frame by jacksonbelle

I guess you should just go with the one you like best and the one you think you'll use most. I agree that it is a hard decision!

Oh I do so want both sets, but really have to pick only one. I keep going thru gallery and having a tough time deciding on this.

Thank you for your input, and please keep it coming!

I love the Headline alpha too! I too use the kissing technique to dress it up and it's fun to stamp them with a baby wipe ink pad to get a multicolor look. Another thing I've done is to stamp the first word of my title in a light color with the Headline alpha and then stamp the second word in a darker color using a smaller alpha or Wonderful Words. Looks great!

I love my headline alpha! I love to do the kissing technique with it, so it's like I have more alpha's. I use it a lot in my 2 yo ds's scrapbook, I think the letterpress might be a little to elegent for mud puddle pages lol. JMHO
