OK, I've taken the leap to unmounting my S/U stamps, but I have a quick question for you seasoned "unmounters". I have some brand new S/U stamps that I haven't mounted yet, and I was wondering if someone has suggestions on how to make the new sticky side not so sticky, but sticky enough to stay on acrylic blocks. Thanks!

I put the clear label right onto the sticky foam. Then you can use Aleene's TIOAO, Tack 'n Peel or just a strip of double sided tape on your block so the stamp will stick. It's almost like using a clear stamp because you can see your image while you stamp.
I personally use the double sided tape on my block. When it loses it's sticky, I simply replace it.

I've watched a couple U-tube tutorials on unmounting and one woman went into great detail about how to get the sticky side to be less sticky. I really can't remember what she said because I wasn't planning on unmounting my stamps, just was wondering what was going on with all the unmounting...wanted to know the "how" and "why". Anyway, I just googled unmounting rubber stamps and got all kinds of informative info.
Thanks to those who answered me. Here's what I ended up doing. I removed the backing paper, and then made it less sticky by tacking it to my sweat pants and the backs of my arms a few times. Seemed to do the trick.

I'm also going to suggest you try sticking the sticker onto the foam side. It makes it sooooo easy to see where you are stamping since the image is right there mirroring the rubber, it solves the sticky dilemma immediately.... and it's less "linty" than your sweatpants!

Hehe, true. But I have a couple questions about this. First and foremost, how do you store your stamps then? I store mine on 8-1/2 x 11 coated sheets in a notebook. The cling mount will stick to it, but I don't think a sticker covered stamp would stick there. Secondly, so . . . the Tack N Peel doesn't rip off the sticker? Tks!
