New to the board here and hope you can help me out! My nesties are paritally (but not fully) embossing when I am cutting them with my CB. Happened on two different machines, using the correct sandwich (C, A, nestie, paper, B) Does this happen to anyone else and is there anything to be done for it? Sometimes I just don't want to emboss, KWIM? Thanks for any help you can give!
I feel your pain. I have the same problem when I use the Wizard, and that was made to use with the Nestabilities. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out a way to keep it from happening. Hopefully someone else will have found a solution!
I use the cuttlebug also and yes this happens to me especially when I use SU paper or other thick card stock - if using a thinner card stock it doesn't usually happen - although it usually doesn't effect the project I am working on because I am usually layering and the slightly embossed piece is usually on the bottom

Are you saying it's not embossing enough? if so-
If you are using the CB, you need to cut it out, then switch the plates around to A, B, die, brown tan embossing mat, B, and a shim then run it through again. That's where I have had the most success-
I am guessing if you had the actual wizard it would do it all in one motion!! ;)
I have that problem too and the answer is in the "shim" and I'm not talking about a dance move!
I kept the thin chipboard that comes in the embossing folders, but you can use any scrap cardstock. Start with one extra piece on top, then try two, you may even need three pieces of cardstock. My nesties do best with two. You should hear a snap when the nestie cut correctly.
I think the roller plates on the insides of specific cbugs might vary very slightly in 'distance between' from machine to machine... but the shims take care of the problem.
She does NOT want the embossing sometimes.
Your machine may be a bit tighter and cannot avoid partial embossing.
When I use a thinner cardstock like CTMH or GP my BigSHot does NOT emboss at all.
But when i use a think cardstock like PTI or Ginak then yes there is ALWAYS partial embossing and it cannot be avoided.

Also for when you want to emboss with the Nesties then run them through to cut and then you need to run them through again using the Embossing mat and Inpressions pad to emboss fully.
Thanks for this tutorial. I just snapped my C plate in my cuttlebug, trying to force it through. Wish I had seen your tutorial earlier.
Thanks again

Thanks everyone for your answers! I will watch the videos, for sure. And I will pay attention to the thickness of the cardstock - the idea to use 2 pieces may acutally work - that way one will paritally emboss and the other won't emboss at all - just the way I wanted it. Thanks ladies!

When I use CTMH or SU cardstock this happens to me just about every time. I'm like you sometimes I don't want the embossing. Using a thicker cardstock to use with your Nesties should help. But then when I want to emboss I have to run it through a couple of times. I would rather do this and get what I want, KWIM.

I use the Cuttlebug with my nesties, and I use the A plate, B plate and C plate to cut with.
If you have really thick cardstock you might have to run it through twice. Just to make sure it's cut.
And when using them to emboss with. I use A plate, 2 B's and the rubber mat.
The embossing isn't always the best, So again I run it through again. Or backwards.
I have this problem too in that sometimes I am not going to emboss my cut-out. So, I played around and found that my B plate in my sandwich (A, C and B) is too thick so I found a notepad and use that instead and it works for me! No embossing! HTH!
