Ok, ladies. I don't even have a catty yet and I have to spill the beans.
Gangsta Greetings is a joke by your fellow SCSers. So, quit lookin!! Now, it seems almost unanimous that the gnome set is a loser. Wonder who will like it and why they made it!!?? Can't wait to see those background stamps!!!!

My box of catties says it will be here tom. but Brown is a big ole slow poke and doesn't get to the mountain community til 4 or 5 p.m. I was praying my freebie would be here today, but no such luck! Even called my Sis cause DH is a Brown Man and she said she thaught I could pick it up if it was actually in the plant already (I know obsessive) but when I called they informed me that they would have already had to be here and leave a yellow slip or something, UGH! I even whined a little but the answer was still NO! Geez, think if I check out the SU! website and look up local Demos I can beg them to sell me one if they got theirs?! lol Well, at least I know the names of some new stuff and what the cover kinda looks like from you sweet gals that posted your pics clutching the new catty, NO FAIR! K, I'm done for now.

It is actually my 2nd favorite set, but I knew it would not be popular. I'm a big time reader, and really like the fantasy genre, so this appeals to me quite a bit. I also have Fairyland, Camelot and Magical & Mystical, and see posts ISO these quite often, so maybe I'll get 2 of these and save one to sell after next year when this set retires! This set, Rhyme Time, and Magic & Wonder remind me of the artwork of James Christiansen.
But I don't mind if everyone else dislikes it. I personally don't like Frolicking Frogs .

I am about to pee my pants about gangsta greetings.
Okay a LONG time ago, Emily and I were up WAY too late and said SU needs to come out with a set called gangsta greetings. We were TOTALLY egged on and we made cards in our gallery with faux gangsta greetings "stamps" that said things like "sup ho?" and "skankatopia" and stuff....
People thought they were real, and we said they were previews from the new catty... LOL so we thought Charming Children of the Corn was an appropriate set to label as the "real" Gangsta Greetings.

Got my catalog at lunch yesterday - my demo met me special to drop it off (plus three more for friends!). So, it sat in my car all afternoon. I couldn't DARE bring it to my office or I would never have gotten any work done :p

I think you have to be a gnome lover to like this set. I think this may be for you so don't give up hope. It is a set of 8 stamps.

I had to give my 2 cents here. The gnomes might be cute on travel pages. Also I can see a cool cat kinda thing where he gets into all sorts of trouble.

Remember Clarence (the clown from last years summer mini---I think)! Haven't seen the Gnomes yet, but these ladies are capable of making us want just about anything. LOL

Yes, they did some ingenious things with that clown, but it is still one of the ugliest, most disturbing images I've ever seen. Nothing could change my opinion on that! I don't care for any of the stamp sets by that artist. Rhyme Time and Magic & Wonder were awful, too! I think those of us who disliked them are in the majority, since they only lasted one year in the catalog.
Having said that, the smaller images in those sets are good...i.e. the mushrooms and flowers. The artist should definitely stay away from doing animals or people. Ick!

My initial reaction to Knobbly Gnomes was UGH!, but I'm starting to change my mind. A little bit. There are certainly way, way uglier sets available this year. The Gnome sitting on the toadstool reading a book isn't that bad, and all of the non-face images are nice. The biggest problem that I see with this artist is how he or she renders faces. That clown last summer was extremely creepy. I don't like clowns at the best of times, and that one reinforced all my clown fears.
Anyway, I won't be buying Knobbly Gnomes, but I'm looking forward to see if someone does something nice with it.

Oh this thread is such a tease...My Demo/friend just went on vacation :( No catty or weekly stamp nights for a couple weeks. The bonus is that I borrowed a bunch of her stuff!!! If I'm too busy playing than the time will fly!!

I was soooo bummed about not having seen the new catty...feel like I was the last one on the face of the earth. Hearing violins yet? Actually my LD demo is sending me one...I'm soooo trying to be patient. I stink at being patient! My co-worker just got a catty on her lunch break and she loaned it to me with 2 requests...no eating in the book.....and no drooling! Four pages later...here goes......
