I ahve been counting the days (hours?minutes? seconds??) until the catty comes out, and this morning I had the most horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach--what if I don't get it on the 15th? How many times have I been late to receive the Success mag and even had to call Demo Support a week later to get them to send one! and that's just the flippin' Stampin SUccess, not THE NEW CATTY!!!
If I don't receive my new catty on the "promised" date July 15th, I think I'll DIE!!!!!! Truly my world will stop (family will have to fend themsleves for meals, baths, etc) and I will have to wait by the window with my nose pressed up against the glass until it arrives...talk about STALKING the mailman!!!
I just don't know if I'll be able to check the boards and read all the posts from everyone who's already gotten it oohing and ahhing if I too do not have it in my hot little hands!
I know what you mean, Melanie. Some of these ladies get the Stampin' Success and SIA stamps so early. I always feel like I'm one of the last to get their stuff. Plus, my UPS man doesn't come until AFTER 5:00. And I'm in Cali..... so some will have their cattys for almost a whole day before me! :( Don't know if I can take it!!!! I'll just be a jealous bitter woman on this board that day!!!!!
Thank goodness someone else is already envisioning C-day too! My UPS guy must save our neighborhood until he's on the way back to the 'office', since he usually delivers here between 5:30 & 7:00. Even when I'm just waiting for a 'regular' order it can become a 'challenging' wait!
At least we've seen a few of the new wheels!!
Have a great day girls!
Smiles,
TexasGrammy
AAAAK, DON"T TELL ME THAT! If I have to wait a WEEK, I MIGHT die of starvation (and my family might starve, too for that matter) if I am waiitng by the window for 7 days! Only the promise of new stamps and accessories could sustain me!
Melanie,
We must make a pact. When we get that tracking # . . . if deliveries are on the same day, no worries. But if one of us gets that precious book first, we have to meet in San Marcos to do a handoff to the one who did not receive them. Deal?
Last year, mine were late. I found a demo close to my office through the demo locator, and called her at work. (Sneaky girl I am!) She met me in the Wal Mart parking lot and sold me a catalog fresh off the UPS truck. I ran to Office Depot and had it spiral bound so I could put all my post-it flags in that evening. OOOOH what a day that was!
Can't wait anymore. When is July going to BE here?
Yes, I was going to recommend to everyone to get front back cover laminated and spiral bound!! it looks so gorgeous and wonderful to have it lay flat on your desk and keep it protected and keep pages from falling out!! Definitely worth the 9 bucvks to do so with your personal copy!!
Yes, Jen, we must make this pact, but I cannot draw blood to do so even for the new catty. I suggest we both just eat some ice cream and call it good! Who's with us?!
My poor son's birthday is the 14th of July. He's so excited and wants to plan a party. All I can think about is the new catalog! Poor kid is getting the shaft big time!
No bodily fluid swapping? PERFECT! We've got to watch out for our stampin' sisters. . .and make darn sure that everyone we know has a catalog to pore through on that fateful day.
Beate & I have a plan. We decide what sets we need, and do not buy duplicates of eachother's purchases. YET. We each get new ones and then share back and forth till we decide what we HAVE to have for our collections. More bang for the buck. But that's the plan so far. I just know that there will be things that right off I will have to order for myself and NOT share! And if I know my best friend. . . .she will do the same thing!
That is soooo funny Laura, I was going to add to my post about my son's upcoming birthday on the 1st and how I feel guilty that I spend more time thinking about the catty than the impending milestone and party!! Luckily, the party happens the week before so I can focus on one and then the other!!!
I'm with you all. I have to leave the 16th for a family reunion, so I am praying that my catty will be here before I leave so that my mom and I can ogle it all week-end! Well, maybe we'll spend some time with the relatives. I wonder how many I can convert to stampers?
The spiral binding of the catalog sounds intriguing. What exactly does this do? And you have it done at Office Depot? Interesting.

I did my personal copy there. Boy is that one beat up now! I had Kinko's do 8 for workshop copies, and had clear plastic on the front and back. They were WONDERFUL there! I also had them insert clear pocket folders before they spiral bound them. That way, I had a place for wish lists, flyers, and mini-catalogs. I found it much easier to haul 8 spiral bound than 8 3-ring binders to workshops. It was well worth the investment, and many of my hostesses & customers have had theirs done, too!
Dawn, I had mine bound at Kinko's, it was ready within the hour. I believe it was 5 bucks ot have it cut and then spiral bound, and then 1.50 or so to laminate each front and back. I am the world's cheapest person so I almost didn't spring for the laminating, but I am soooo glad I did! It's a really heavy thick laminating so it is impossible to bend it or get little creases in it and it just looks like a million bucks, so glossy and professional!! Go for it!!
You're so right melmel! Kinko's can laminate the covers, and spiral bind it during just a short wait .... take along another catty to look at while you wait! It is WORTH EVERY PENNY!!

I'm a new demonstrator so this will be my first set of pre-ordered catalogs. I'm wondering, are they shipped out on the 15th from Utah, or are they shipped ahead of time in order to reach their desinations by the 15th? I live in Virginia, so if they are shipped on the 15th, there's no way I'll get mine that day. I don't want to get my hopes up for the 15th if I'll have to wait longer than that. :?

What a GREAT idea!!! I can't imagine how much easier the folder inserts must make it....I'm running to the bank with that one! Is anyone going to convention???

What a great idea!!! I just signed up with Stampin Up at the end of May and have had my kit for 2 weeks now. I haven't had much time to really get into yet as I've taken on an early morning job recently too (4-7am---but this allows me to be home with my kids) so I've been extremely tired. Its kind of hard to get excited about doing any workshops as I'm waiting on the new catalog too! *LOL* Patience is something I lack, you think?
Wish me luck as I kind of make a debut tomorrow night at a Mary Kay/ Pampered Chef/ Creative Memories get together! I have 7-10 mins to make my impact......I hope I can do it!!! Any suggestions?????

The one year that I didn't go to convention, I got the box of catalogs that I ordered long before the FREE one came.
Last year was my first year and I signed up around this time, so I got the yellow book and my purple cattys where on backorder. I can't remember if I got them when every one else did (I don't think I was on any e-mail lists yet) but I do remember panicing and checking outside the door every five minutes during the hours of 10-12 (that's when UPS came to our house).
Then later I got my catty in the mail. I was like, "Gee--thanks! Another one!" That one through the mail takes it's sweet time! :P

One of the benefits I offer my hostesses is that I get their catalogs bound for them. The local printing place only charges $1.50. They love it. I never thought of having them laminated. I will definitely have to get that done when I return from convention if I haven't worn it out by then.
As a matter of fact the last time I took a catalog in to be bound I thought the girl behind the counter sounded extra happy when I said I would come back a little later to pick it up instead of waiting in the store. When I returned, her and another coworker were looking through the catalog. The girl said that she hoped I didn't mind, they hadn't seen a catalog in a very long time. How could I possibly mind. That would be like denying water to someone dehydrating in the desert. I dropped off a catalog for her a few days later complete with my business card and discontinued list.
You ladies are genious!!! I never knew that you could get books laminated and spiral bound. I have to do that with my new catty. You guys should see my current on . . . . let's just say it is well loved!

So what do I ask for? Do they actually cut the catalog into pages and then sprial bind them? This is really a great idea! Mine usually falls apart after the first month because I look at it so much!
I live on an ieland in SE Alaska and I can pretty much expect to receive my order a day later than what the tracking site says. Unless of course the day later happens to fall on a Sat.! UGH!!!! I just looked at my calender and the 15th is a Thursday! OMGosh!!!! I won't get my catty until the following Monday if I am lucky!!!! The inhumanity of it all! I will never make it thru the weekend! I am having a laser procedure done on hte 14th and the only thing to get me thru that was the catty coming the next day or so. Oh my poor poor family. I am not gonna be a very nice person to be around if my catty comes that late. I may be single by the time the catty arrives. lol

Okay, so I need to get this straight. If we just wait for our one personal demo copy to get sent to us that ships out around July 15th?? But if we preorder a box of 10, that ships to arrive around June 29th???
I don't really want a whole box but I don't want to wait half of July either!!!
Somebody let me know if those dates are accurate - thanks!!

I though the catty was supposed to be available July 1?????????? How can we order from a catty we don't have?

This thread was "resurfaced" from a search, I presume. Look at the dates on the beginning posts...they're from June 2004. A different time, a different catalog... ;)

OK, since my birthday is the 3rd, which I have almost forgotten until I reading the posts about birthday parties LOL people are going to start asking what I want this year it will be MONEY, I've only been at this since October 2004 and had never heard of rubber stamping before that and looked at the current catalog and decided it would be better for me to become a DEMO so here I am am loving the whiz out of it!!!!!!!!!!! Hurry get me my new catalogs I pre-ordered so surely they will be here soon (i hope) I'm going crazy, but I always get my Stampin' Sucess late by about 2 weeks, please not the catalogs please.
Now I'm confused. I pre-ordered a catalog. Does this mean I'll not get it until the middle of July????? For some reason, I thought it would be sent to me the last of June. Can someone straighten this out for me?????
