Default New Crafter's Tool Kit

I just purchased the new kit to show at stamp camps. I tried using the eyelet setter (the pointed one) and it split the eyelet really weird. Has anyone else had the problem or am I using the wrong piece...thanks for your input, Rebecca

I had the same problem and the hole maker doesn't punch thru the cardstock layers. Anyone with ideas or suggestions about how to fix these problems?

Just an FYI, the gold and silver eyelets are a different metal than the rest, so they will split funny. Don't know if that is the color you are talking about. I had a punch once that didn't go thru the cardstock. I called DS and they happily replaced it.

Othewise, just make sure you are setting your eyelets on a hard surface--folding tables tend to "give" when you hammer on them and it doesn't work very well.

ditto about the surface you've got your mat on. It really does need to be a firm surface that doesn't give at all when you tap the hammer.

I love my set....I keep grabbing for it for all sorts of things. A little while ago it was the tweezers. So glad I invested in it!

Hugs,
Betsy

I had read previously about people hving problems, so when I tried mine I really gave it a resounding WHACK. No problems. As someone use to using a puch thought was a tad agressive, but hey, I can just pretend is that person at work who frosts my cake. Take that, you ungrateful wretch!
