Default New Stamp Sets

I hope that the new catalog has some sets I'm going to like. So far, from what I've seen, I'm not impressed. :( (If this is the direction Stampin" Up! is taking, Hero Arts, here I come!)
I think the images in It's A Party and the Nursery Rhyme set (don't know the real name) are very unattractive, and Ladybug Picnic doesn't seem very versatile. I've joined a club that starts when the new catalog comes out, so I might be buying a lot of cardstock!

Oh I wouldn't judge what will be in the new catalogue by what you see in the pre-order sets. That is such a small snapshot of what is to come. Stampin' Up! is way too business savvy to disappoint us. They take into account current trends, different styles, etc. I'm sure you will be very excited with the selection of new stamp sets in the catalogue(along with the rest of us) LOL

I'm certain that there will be more sets in the new catalog that I will want than I should responsibly buy (but who wants to be responsible. Blah!), but I'm kind of like Happy Heart. I am not really excited about the pre-order sets. I'm sure when I see the catalog and see SU's absolutely wonderful samples, I will love them all! It amazes me that some that I think I would never want end up on my favorites list before I know it! TRUE!

The few new sets for the pre-order period didn't float my boat either -- I didn't pre-order any. But.... I can say that the new hostess sets really turned me on (and made me sell a LOT so I could get some early). With around 100 new sets, I would imagine that we'll fall in love with plenty of them.

I too have not been excited about any of the new sets being previewed and don't really like any of the new hostess sets either. But... I distinctly remember thinking I didn't like much at all of the new catalog last year when it first came out and being kind of disappointed. And now a year later I have almost 100 sets and really love them. It makes such a difference to see samples made as opposed to just looking at the drawings in black and white. So don't despair even if you are not thrilled with the new catalog at first I am quite sure it will grow on you. My husband thinks the current catalog grew on me a little too much. I haven't had the heart to tell him yet that the new catalog comes out next month.

In the gallery there is a card using a set called Birthday Banters. The subtitle says it's a new set. I can't wait!

Oh, I forgot about that one! That does look cute, and the card is sweet. Guess now I know I'll be ordering at least one new set!

I am SOOO happy to find out that I'm not alone in this opinion. I didn't pre-order any sets either. I did earn two hostess sets, but had a hard time finding two that I liked. I guess I'll just have to wait for the new catalog. Surely there will be something in there that I'll like.

I wasn't thrilled with the new pre-order sets either; however, I remember thinking that last year too. I remember also my initial impression of the new catalog was "it's o.k.". However, once I really looked thru it, I loved it. I'm sure it's going to be great. I also can't wait until the new mini catalogs are expanded. Don't worry ladies, I'm sure SU won't let us down.

I feel the same way about both hostess and preorder sets. But if I remember correctly, I felt that way about last year's preorders. I think a lot of times the catalog really grows on you. There are a lot of sets that I never thought I would want, but now am dying to buy! Seeing the gorgeous artwork posted here makes my wish list grow!

I'm not a huge fan of the pre-order sets, but I did get a few of them to try to spread my creative wings and try new looks. I scrapbook, too, and I want to have lots of diversity in my pages. Otherwise, every page would have Spring Garden, Love without End and Simple Shapes on them!

I was new to Stampin Up in Jan so I still have sets in the current catalog that I want. I even ordered a few retiring sets because I couldn't say goodbye.

I'm exercising restraint unti the new catty comes in!

Convention, here I come!

Well, ditto for me, on all that. I don't like the preorder sets, I don't like the hostess sets, but I may change my mind when I see what other people have done. I do like what I have seen with the picnic set on this website.

Fortunately, my wish list from the current catalog is enough to keep me occupied for a long time!

Still, I can't wait for July 15th!

I am so glad to see that I am not alone on the new sets including hostess. I earned several of the hostess sets and none of them really appeal to me. The set with the Pansy has the most deformed flowers I have ever seen, but I love Pansies so I will order that one... the preorder stamp sets are awful except the picnic...

I thought it was because I am out of stamping commission with this darn broken collar bone and have not been a happy stamper. :( Looking forward to the new catalog and hopefully will be pleasantly surprised. And like most of you, some of the stamp sets grow on you after you see all the creative possibilities by all of you.

I am just looking forward to stamping again....wow, what crazy withdrawls. Do they have a alanon meetings for disfunctional stampers!!!! Can't wait to get back into the ink of things.

Frustrated stamper, Rebecca

Remember the four they showed last year? Groovy Lines, Let's Party, Pocket Fun, and Early Spring. I was SO upset, I thought the catalog would be awful! I don't like the groovy/retro style and I pictured the new catalog coming out with a bunch of those. I couldn't imagine Pocket Fun doing more than one thing: Having something pop out of the pocket, and thought I'd be bored after one sitting. And Early Spring just didn't grab me, either. Now, I've seen so many of the pretty samples that I actually like them more than I ever thought I would! Don't despair, there will be some goodies coming if you don't like them.

I didn't like any of the pre-order sets either and was not going to order them...until these talented women made them look so great! I ordered $60 worth yesterday. Glittery curses on you But, I'm sure there will be a bunch in the new catalog that I can't live without.
