Hello fellow Stampers
I guess it is the Holidays (not really sure) but oh boy the motivation just sucks!
Does anybody have any ideas on how to get back into "the mood" to stamp. I just don't have any ideas and although I look all around the site, I come across so many good ideas, but am totally unmotiviated. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much...

My inspiration so far has been lurking around the gallery... just picked a random set i have not used much then found an example i liked... then just "had" to tweak it a bit to make it a bit more "me" and i was suddenly back on the creativity wagon... but i think taking a break at times is a good thing too! or try something new with your stamps - how about scrapbooking? making "card candy" instead of cards?
Usually when I don't feel like stamping it is because I look at it all, and feel I have too much stuff hanging around. So, try this. Do a little purge. Put a few sets up for trade, and think of a few sets you would like to get. Then, when they arrive, you will have looked at the galleries and found a few cards to case. Usually, voila, that gets me going again. Hope this helps!
I don't have much advice for you... just wanted to tell you that you aren't alone!! I've felt like that for a while... I seem to only get the urge to stamp when I HAVE to... to prepare for a class or workshop. I think that creativity just comes in waves sometimes, and you might just need to give it a little time
Thanks Laura and Hedgiemama,
I do have an overbundance of rubber... to be exact over 4,000 stamps.. I know ideas are endless.. but gosh I hate to part with any of them... LOL. Thanks for the input and I will give it a try.

I think you should check out the daily challenges they have, today is a Sketch Challenge (Wednesday).....just follow the diagram posted and make a card, plain and simple.......always works for me.

I am in the same boat. I decided that I would stamp with every set I've never used until I bought any new stamps. Also, try just walking away from the whole stamping thing for a few days and see if that helps. Sometimes looking in the galleries depresses/overwhelms me. So much talent!!

When I lack motivation I go in my stamping room and organize things. That makes me feel better and I usually end up picking up something that inspires me to use it. I also like to go to Michael's or Hobby Lobby and buy a new toy such as the Cuttlebug which I just got yesterday. Now that is inpsiration! Good luck.
All of the above ideas are really great. Here's one more if you like Hero Arts stamps--their new catty is out and really soooo cool! I found huge inspiration in it. And my bank balance suffered for it to, so be warned!
I'm lacking motivation to do anything today. Can't seem to want to clean, put away presents or decorations. Nothing. So you aren't alone!
I think the challenges are great for inspiration. Sometimes I made a dud card, but then I'm inspired to change it and make a better one the second time.
Or give yourself a break for a few weeks. I'm using my creative energy to work on my SAB order !
Try the Challenges! Go to the SCS home page and look to the right hand side. You'll see a section called Challenges. Every day of the week is a different challenge-Tuesdays are colour challenges and Wednesdays are Sketch challenges. These are my TOTAL inspiration! i've only been doing them a month, but I am HOOKED!
Know how that feels. Today's sketch challenge is one of the easier ones for me. Got me going. I sat down tonight and cut paper to do three cards. Then I put the three stacks aside to work on another day. Cutting and planning layouts are the hardest part for me. Am also playing with the scallops I've made with the slit punch. Hauled out my tiny heart punch and figured out that the heart punch- outs fit the scallop. Will do that when I make Valentines. Finished one card this afternoon. I think this really helped me get out of the rut and have something to look forward to working on. You don't have to produce a finished card everytime you sit down at your craft table.
