Now that you've had some time to ponder the retiring list...
which items will you be sure to snap up before it's too late? If you already have some retiring sets, which ones are you so glad to have and know that you will still use for a long time?
I am so confused and keep going back and forth between Botanicals, Watercolor Garden II, and Wonderful Wings. Maybe there is another great set that I am completely overlooking?

I'm thinking that I'm going to order Wonderful Wings. I ordered Botanicals right before the retired list came out and I'm glad I did. I also keep going back and forth on the Watercolor Garden II. Looks like we have similar stamp interests!
I already own Watercolor Garden II and love it & will use it for a long time. I just ordered the Paisley BG and should have it any day. I will be ordering Little Trucks. My 3 year old DS loves "rigs" so I will try to use this set in his scrapbook (I have never stamped in my scrapbooks--hope to start doing this soon) and plan to do his 4th birthday party invites with it (a shaker card with sand). Hopefully, he will still be into rigs when he turns 4 in February. The only other retiring set I own is Lace Snowflakes, which I haven't used yet, but seems so classic.

there were so many but the most valuable i got was Changing Seasons. I love going to covered bridge festivals and I have a few friends and an aunt who will appreciate those as well!
I've already ordered "Roughing It" for camping/hiking scrapbook pages and masculine cards. I will be ordering Autumn before it goes away. I love the look of skeleton leaves but they are expensive and with the Autumn set I can stamp them directly on a project. I think they'll look great embossed on vellum.

I was surprised to see Hang in There retiring already. I love that set. Maybe I'm in a minority though! The only set I am planning on ordering from the retired list is Letter Perfect Backgrounds.. Was going to get Sun-Ripened II, but I traded for it here! Woo Hoo!!
Well Miss Renee, I think we already discussed that I was getting the WC II and you were going to get Botanicals next month.....Are you really still thinking about Wonderful Wings? You just got Winged things...
So.....stop looking at your catalogues retiring list and think about what's to come!!! Get excited!!!! See you Monday!!!

I have my paisley background on order. I didn't like that stamp at first until I saw all the wonderful ways to use it here.
I'm still considering Beautiful Batik. I really like that one, just not sure I would use it enough. I have more time to decide. The only other one I am even considering is the Grovy lines bg stamp. I will probably not get that one.
The only set I have that is retiring (have the brass template also) is Bold Basics. I don't regret ordering that. I really like the flower and the little swirl in it. As for the brass template...I have decided I don't really enjoy dry embossing much so that one, I could take or leave.
I just got my Paisley Print stamp yesterday! Can't wait to play with it after all the beautiful cards I've seen in the gallery. I would have never given it a second thought if not for SCS.
I really like Hang In There, but not enough to purchase it. I wouldn't mind a few stamped images of some of these in exchange of some of my stamped images of other sets. Maybe I should post on the BST or Swap boards.

The three you're considering are all great sets. I have Botanicals and Watercolor Garden II and love them both. Wonderful Wings is on my list, along with Coast to Coast and Sunripened II. In fact, I ordered all three this morning!

I'm trying to track down the "Tickled Pink" set and matching wheel.....if I can't trade for it, I might just break down and buy it......I'm a flamingo nut! I'd ordered paisley before the list came out......and managed to find my other "want" which was stipple shells and the matching wheel!

I am seriously looking at Birthday Greetings 'cos I think I go more Bday cards than anything else & could use a little variety. Also want Bitty Bolds for making small cards to give as gift packs.
Since I live in the Okanagan, I was thinking of getting Farm Fresh (p.161). Does anyone have it or have any words of advice about it??

I just don't know what to do! I had a list of about 5 retiring sets I wanted, but then I decided I was going to sign as a demo in July. So I don't want to have many retired sets! My demo is going to show me the catty as soon as she gets it, so I'll have to make up my mind then I guess.
Several of my favoured sets are retiring with this catalogue.
Botanicals -- one nice thing about this set is that it comes with its own background stamp (the Latin script). Not only is this set gorgeous, it's also versatile. There's a maple leaf for autumn stamping and a crocus bulb for spring. And I find all sorts of places to tuck the little bee in. The salutation stamp (To Someone Special) is also general enough to actually be useful.
Beautiful Batik -- I use this for everything, including Christmas and Father's Day. Great for resist emboss technique and bleaching.
Etruscan -- I get a lot of use out of this set too. I most often use it by colouring directly on the stamps with markers.
Other retired sets that I use often are Stipple Shells, Something Marvelous, Friendship's Journey, and Travels Abroad.
I'm buying Autumn and Parisian Plaza, and I'm considering the Paisley background. Hope that helps.

Are you for sure getting WC II? If you are then I will chill out about that one. If you ever move, I will have to steal it before you leave. (ADK lives directly behind me, access is so easy through our back gates. She once left the house with something cooking and gave me direct instructions that, if there were a fire, tell the firemen where her stamps were, lol!)

I will definitely order Letter Perfect Backgrounds for scrapping, Roughing It, Star of Wonder and To The Finish.
I will continue to use Filigree--love it and Renewed Faith for Easter cards. I'll never get rid of Classic Convertibles, because hubby is a big-time Corvette lover!
I already have WCG II and Filigree - love them both. But I think I'll also pick up Classic Convertibles for masculine cards and Botanicals - just because I think it looks neat and I like to color in.
I am keeping Wonderful Wings, and am geting the retired Crayon Sets, must have for my kids school years! I got Dino-Mite and Crayon Fun and Bug Builders, I did get rid of my Filigree, now I am regretting it...I am thinking about paisley...I traded my classic convertibles and keeping my renewed faith...(my dad is fisherman and my husband is a musician... no car people here really)...
I had to get the crayon fun and the crayon alpha. I love those sets and was just waiting for a good time to get them. Now if only I could find a crayon christmas, my set would be complete.

I just ordered Paisley BG (tried so hard not to buy it, but didn't work!!), Birthday Greetings, You Warm My Heart, and Totally Teacups wheel. Next month I plan to buy Watercolor Garden II. I have 2 other sets on my list that I'm considering, but I'm waiting until I catch a glimpse of the catty first.
I had Wonderful Wings on my list until I saw the new sneak preview set On Gossemar Wings today. That set is soooo much prettier & versatile!
I had a long list of what I wanted when the retiring list came out, but I've whittled it down to these few sets! Now, I cannot wait to see what is available in the new catty!!

Oh boy, did I have a hard time getting my list down so it fit in my scrimped and scraped budget, I've been rolling a ton of coin from my mad money jar as well as getting stuff ready for *bay.
My list includes fall fun (I held my neighbors set hostage for months ;) ) Dino-mite, swirls & blossoms, stipple plaid, quirky alpha lower & numbers.
I need to find another method of income for when the new catty comes out.
I snatched Paisley Print, A Beautiful Season, and On the Beach. I pondered getting Yukon, but decided to wait.
Among the sets that are retiring, I'm glad I already have Farm Fresh, Season Sketches, and Christmas Foliage.

You always talk about if I move....what if you move??? We've (my husband and I) lived in the same city for the entire existance of our marriage, how many cities have you lived in?? um, 3, or is it 4 (including this city) I'm more worried about you picking up and moving. I will NOT let you move, and it's not because of your stamps either.........
I am forsure getting WC II...See you at the game tomorrow night, if you guys make it after your fabulous meal!!!

I ordered Botanicals and Heaven Scent on last month's order. I can't believe they are ditching Botanicals and I've wanted that violet in Heaven Scent for a long time. I'm glad I have Travels Abroad because I adore the Budha on that one. I use it all the time. Same with Bunch o Bugs.
Look at the "Gossamer Wings" in the new catty section of the gallery because I think they are much lovelier than the Wonderful Wings. I'm waiting on that one. I can't wait for my demo to get my new catty to me!!

I make *tons* of pages with Crayon Alphabet...so I'm keeping both the u/c, the l/c, and the numbers. I make lots of craft fair projects with Botanicals, so I've got to keep that too. And I just *love* Farm Fresh to pieces, so that one is staying, too.
DH and I had a deal when I first started stamping: I could keep what I could store in my craft closet. Otherwise, I best plan on using my stamps to keep me warm at night. Right now, DH is being such a putz that sleeping with my stamps is a much more attractive alternative than hearing his bullhorn snoring in my ear tonight....
Sweet dreams.... ~ K

I'm new to stamping, but the 3 retiring ones that I really want are:
Roughing It
Bug Builders
Wonderful Wings
I can let go of Wonderful Wings. And I've pretty much talked myself out of BugBuilders. Though my kids love that set. We borrowed it from a friend once. But the Roughing It would be great for camping, BoyScouting, cards for men, etc.
I don't know if I can NOT buy it. Even if I won't go camping myself. My husband and kids enjoy it.
I am not a very decisive person so this is really hard.
I have Bold Basics and use that a lot. It's one on the Retiring list too.
I already have Roughing It and it is a great set! Go for it! It makes great scrapbooking pages and masculine cards! It is pricey, but you will get a lot of use out of it. I am taking it and Pines and the retired Fly fishing set to my son's first grade class next week so they can make Father's day cards!
The sets that I still want out of the catalog are the Paisley print background, Scatter Seeds of Kindness, Stipple shells and matching wheel. I ruled out Wonderful Wings because I already have stipple butterfly and I suspect SU will come out with some more beautiful butterflies and dragonflies in the next year. I am wavering on Filigree Background, I have seen so many beautiful cards with that one! I love Botanicals and Watercolor Garden II, but probably won't get them in anticipation of something else fabulous like them!
