Default Obsessed with SU

Are any of you obsessed with SU products? I am quite new to stamping, just became interested in it in the summer of 2005. I was introduced to SU then and just cant get enough now. I love to browse through the catalogue constantly, I even take it to work with me daily. I find myself thinking about all the stuff I want to own all the time. Sometimes my first thought in the morning is about some stamp set. Please tell me that there are others out there who feel obsessed with stamping!

I started stamping with SU and although I have tried other stamps and such, I find that I like SU the most, and although I may spend a lot on them, at least I know it is high quality, that the colors coordinate, and that the stamps compliment each other, so I have really saved money in the long run, right? Enjoy the obsession!

I am totally obsessed! That's why I ended up becoming a demo immediately after the first SU party I attended. I wanted the discount!

Your addiction has only just begun. And now that the catalog is on the website...it's a great way to "look" like you're super busy at work

Hello my name is Synamon, and I'm obsessed with SU! lol I've been an avid stamper for over 5 yrs now, and each year right before SAB I sell some of the sets I haven't been using to put the money back into SU products-my dh is cool with this because it means less $$ leaves the checkbook at my annual b-day workshop.. rofl
I have 27 days left until my bday workshop and am sooo excited, I already have orders from some friends out of state.. it's the best workshop I host each year.

C'mon guys.. this is where ya'll are supposed to tell me to seek the help of a professional.....

Yeah like you I started stamping this past summer and can't seem to get enough of it. Almost every night I am stamping something and I seem to want everything in the catalogue. I am to the point where I can tell people the page number of things they are looking for. Every spare cent I get I buy things from the catalogue. I don't think that I have ever been obsessed over anything before.

Oh Yes, I went to my first card party about this time last year and since then I have accumulate more than 70 sets, wheels, all the ink pads, all the paper and mostly all the eyelets and buttons. I still have about a 4 page wish list that I am constantly revising!! I am hooked to say the least!!

Default You are not alone!

I went to my first Stampin' Up workshop in the fall, and since then I have been to two others and hosted two of my own. I am glad to hear I am not the only one who reads the catalogue daily. Sometimes I can't sleep at night because I have visions of stamping projects running through my head. Some nights I say to my husband "I really need to get some sleep, so I am not going to look at the catalogue tonight." Then after I found this website, I knew it was all over for me!!

Happy Stamping!

Thanks for replying to my question, ladies. I feel so much better knowing that maybe I am "normal" looking at the SU! catalogue every single night and carrying it around with me everywhere, lol. All of your posts made me laugh because its nice to know that I'm not the only one with this obsession. I see that I am in good company! Yay!

Oh, yes. It's been years and years for me, and it doesn't change. My catalog goes on vacation, and my friend back east & I discuss different sets and samples almost every day. Hey -- I have an excuse. My kids are basically all grown up and my stamps are my babies! Just wait until the new catalog is about to come out. People get really crazy then! Gay Howe

Me too. Once I became hooked, I became a demo and no longer set foot inside Michaels or other places. I think I actually spend less as a result. LOL

Not only do I carry it with me pretty much wherever I go, my DH knew I had gone over the edge when I had this year's catty and had it spiral bound and clear covered! Now it can go with me and not get as messed up. (I guess I should tell you this has been about 6 yrs of obsession for me. You can try to resist but, hey, why bother. ) P.S., SCS makes it worse!... or better depending on how you look at it!)

I too went to my first SU party last May. Since then i have gone to six more parties and I have one to go to this Thurs. My feeling is if you're going to have an obsession this one is not too bad. I know that I devote so much time to my DH and 3 kids, that I need something for myself. I'll be moving in two months and my biggest fear is I won't be able to find anyone to do SU with!

I too started with a show. . . found out I loved it when I realized my catty went everywhere. So, I signed up as a demo because I wanted a discount. So, strongly recommend that! Now here I am 2 years later going on a cruise with SU!

The 12 step program...

1. My name is Arlene
2. I am addicted to Stampin Up
3. I carry my catalog around to places to sneak in time to view it.
4. I have multiple of wish lists
5. I browse the Sale/Trade/Buy board alot
6. I even browse EBAY alot looking for older sets
7. There is no cure
8. I will be needing a 2nd job to pay for my wishlists.
9. There is no cure
10. Always wondering what is in the next new mini
11. There is no cure
12. Anyway, who wants to be cured?????

I had my SU catelog spiral bound, too! I love it, it opens flat now! It cost less than 4 dollars at Staples to have it bound.
