I am getting ready to sign up as a new demo & I am trying to come up with a creative idea for my 1st open house workshop. I was going to do a Christmas card workshop since I thought I was going to sign up in late October / early November. But I absolutely can not pass on this new demo special... So with all that... Is October too early to do a Christmas card workshop or do I need to go back to the drawing board?
Thanks for the support. Most of my crafty friends scrapbook & don't really stamp. I thought teaching them some good ideas to make their own cards would be something non threatening to non stampers.
the holiday mini catalog starts September 1st, so i am having a Christmas in September stamp camp. some of my customers start in july! since its 100+ degrees here in St. Louis i am trying to think Christmas to keep cool!!
Not at all! I just made my first Christmas card last night! Besides once the holidays roll around things get so hectic. It's better to have then done early!
I bought all new Christmas stamps and paper for last years cards. Never made them because of a move. I promised myself I would make them this summer, and it is August all ready! I keep joining swaps!! I need to start my christmas cards!!(insert big whine here!).

Definately it's not too early- especially since they have to order before making!
Even the non-stamping/crafting people can do a photo card. My sisters did them all last year (well, I did end up doing most). We cut cardstock to fit a business envie, glued on a picture and stamped the ends with sayings and
decorations. They all came out cute. And easy!!
I know of an online group of stampers that started right after the Holidays last year, and they are doing so many per month throughout the year to get them done. That way, they are not stressing in the Fall to get them finished. ;)
I almost joined the group. Still may in fact! It isn't too late! LOL
I start my christmas stamp a stack workshops in AUGUST! We go for 4 months making 10 each month. Attendees get a night out once a month and 40 cards by Nov.

If you're going to sign up anyway, definitely do it in time to get that great special of a whole family of ink pads. When I signed up, there wasn't any recruiting incentive other than the new catalog last year which was enough to make me want to take the plunge.
And October is a great time to demo Christmas cards, and Thanksgiving cards, placecards, etc. Go for it!!!
It's not too early at all! I'll be thinking about Christmas cards by the end September and will order my colors and anything needed in early October. I'd start them sooner since I have so many to make, but I'm in the middle of a 900-mile move and I have to think about change of address notifications once I get home before I can do Christmas cards - or all the cards sent to me will go to NC instead of NH!

I agree with others- it's NOT to early to start Christmas cards .... I am starting Christmas card classes in September twice a month until December. I've had a lot of interest for early holiday card making.
I run a monthly card group and we'll be making Xmas cards from the September meeting onwards.
World Card Making Day is on Saturday 6th October and we'll be getting together then too for a one off special meeting, again for making Xmas cards. It will be all day instead of an afternoon and we'll have music and all bring some food - should be great fun!
Here's a link if you want to check out World Cardmaking Day
I waited until October last year and it was too late for my group. They engoyed the ideas but they all feel like they need to be done making there Christmas cards the week before Thanksgiving because therer's no time after that! My Christmas classes are August and September. I will do an open night in October for everyone that placed an order for their Christmas stuff to come and do like a "crop night" Everyone bring there own stuff and a covered dish and we all work on our own projects
Never too early to think about Christmas cards. In fact, if most of your friends do scrapbooks, there's a card on the page in the holiday mini that would be perfect for them. It's the page with the Holiday Harmony paper...a good sketch that can use any assortment of paper scraps and any type of embellishments, be they stamps, diecuts or whatever. Good luck with your first workshop!
