I'm not offended by the under pants or bra cards, they are cute; although I wouldn't make them nor would I send them to anyone. It's just not my style.
On the other hand, I think the 'naked girls holding hands' card is a bit too much for me- I'm not offended, but I don't think that card is cute.
Oh, this must be good cause my browser here at work blocked the site!!
Cant wait to get home and check it out
It was blocked at my work too! hehe. I am not offended by the bra and panty cards at all- I made one for VSN and I must say that while I would have never thought of making one before- I had a blast making it! I can definitely see making those for your BF or DH for anniversayr or V-Day- too cute. If nothing else- it was fun decorating it with ribbon to make it look real.
The Ladies holding hands is not my style at all, however, I am not offended by it either.
I don't think there's anything "dirty" about these cards and I feel safe to say that SCS is a VERY CLEAN site. Considering everything else I have seen on the internet- this is probably the cleanest fun you can have online!
I just checked out the cards and thought they were very cute. I really have never come across anything offensive. I wish I was as creative as most of these girls. Thanks for the awesome ideas!
I am new to this sight too, and i thought the cards were hysterical !!!
My girl friends and i use the "put your big girl panties on and deal with it" phrase constantly! I so wish i had known about the vsn thing ! we're all having lunch today and those cards would have been so much better than the ones i did for them! haaaaa- wait until next months lunch out with the girls, they are so going to love the panty cards i'm going to make
Love this sight, you all are so talented, i have so much to learn!
Not offended, I am not sure I have an occasion for the "naked girls" but it reminded me of some Egyptian wall art on the Discovery channel. Come to think of it my DH would get a kick out of it, but I wouldn't buy the stamp.
What an entertaining thread ! I love ALL the ideas ! Being different is great!
stepping out of your comfort zone is FUN ! Of all the comments I have read on this site, 99.9 % are encouraging, funny , caring, and people go out of their way to help other girls, from 3000 miles away !!! I know no one would post something at the risk of making someone uncomfortable !!! I wish my butt looked like the ones in the cards !

Is anyone else out there offended by some of the cards being posted lately? The under pants, bras, and there is also one with naked girls holding hands. I thought this was a clean web site. What will be allowed next?
Barbara
harmless fun to me. i find television more offensive, if i don't like the card i move on. they offer something for everyone... please don't be offended, it really is done in harmless fun. the VSN was ladies night out, and we all wear panties! (at least i hope we do... hmmm)

I was just going to lurk here in this forum, but I took a look at the naked girls holding hands card. (Good take on the challenge by the way) and I have to say that this image is a classic image from the Greek period. You find this type of image on pottery and scuptured relief. So it is really ART!

I remember my MIL( the preacher's wife) making a bikini cake with Hostess Snowballs for a co-worker of my SIL. There were people who were shocked and refused to eat the cake. That would have been early 70's. Now if she had made it look like a naked lady that would have been shocking and offensive. To each their own.
I was just looking at the cards - my first thought was 'wow they are so creative and cute' so I guess I am not offended...as my next thought was thinking about what paper and ribbon I could use to make one myself :-)
As for the naked girls card - I thought that was pure art...
I haven't been offended by them, but I never had a reason to make one to send to anyone because many of the ladies I know would be offended. Now that one of my friends is going in for a breast reduction next month, I have some inspiration to make her a "Breast Wishes" card!
I have been undergoing treatment for breast cancer for the last 8 months (just finished yeah!!!) and I am lovin the bra cards!! I will be making some "thanks for your support" cards for the doctors and nurses and family and friends who helped. I am sure they will get a kick out of them!!!!!! I am so glad these cards and templates were shared. They are perfect!!!

What funny inky fingers on that Belle.
Eh. Not my style. But I don't find them offensive. Some are downright cute. But I wouldn't necessarily make them. The great thing about stamping and crafting in general is that everyone can indulge their tastes and styles.
Honestly, the cards you are referring I believe were all made in good clean fun. The cards were all very creative and got people to do something they typically do not do. You have a right to be offended as do other have the right to make a card like that if they chose. There is room enough for all views on this site.
This site is a clean site. I personally did not make a card for that challenge only because I didn't have time this weekend but I honestly would make one in a heartbeat (would not hesitate at all) if the right opportunity presented itself. There are some people that would not appreciate a card like that and there are those whose day would be made by a card like that! It's just for fun!

OMG this reminded me of the boobie cake my grandmother and aunt made for my uncle when I was about 8--also early 1970s. My uncle is a dyed-in-the-wool Southern Baptist (later became a deacon, teaches Sunday school, the works!) who laughed so hard at the cake he almost hurt himself and even let Grandma take pics of him eating a cherry off. I'd forgotten all about it until now, and it explains why I love my uncle so much. He knows how to take a joke! I'm sure lots of people would find that offensive even now, but it was something of an innocent inside joke about my uncle marrying my aunt for her "chestal endowments".... Gosh, guess you had to be there....;)
Sorry for the hijack. Back to the regularly scheduled debate....
I'm not offended however I don't think I would ever make one of those cards to give to someone else. (On the other hand the men in our lives would probably like a bra card)....just sayin'.

I'm sorry, I don't think I understand your comment. I don't see how her comments "frumpled" anyone's rights. She didn't demand that those images be censored; she just asked if others were bothered by them. And I don't see what any of this has to do with the TOS. I just wanted to stick up for the OP because everyone was rolling their eyes at her and getting upset and while I wasn't "offended" myself, I can see how someone might not be comfortable with those kinds of cards. They're just not everyone's cup of tea.
I also agree with this post, and with Heidi's. There was no need to "talk down" to the OP and belittle her for her post. She was very civil, and deserves the same in response. How would you ladies feel if something genuinely upset you and when you spoke up, everyone basically told you to get over it?

I just realized that no one was offended when cards were posted with mens boxers ( a brief note) why is it just womens underwear that is offensive?
ok, ha ha, brief note!!
Sunneedazee- HUGE stampin' hugs. I hope your doing well now.
Thank goodness you are done with chemo ( I assume) and hopefully on your way to trying to get back to your somewhat normal life~

I found the bra and panty cards cute and I wasn't offended. I have a minor in art and one gets use to looking at the human body from a different perspective and I found the girls holding hands very artsy. Probably wouldn't send to everyone, but some people I know might appreciate it. We have to all look at the gallery as what it is a "gallery" You go to the art museum and there are nudes, if you don't like it you go look at the weaponry area or the modern art area. It is a gallery of works - you pick and choose what to see.
I believe the "naked girls holding hands" image is from a classical image of the Muses. Not sure, though.
As for the bra and panty cards ... they aren't really my style, and I can't think of anyone I'd send one too, but I think they're cute and not offensive.

All right, ya gotta admit that these cards were quite a departure from the usual stuff in the galleries. It's a loooooooong way from "cherish," etc. to thong and booby cards
Where we see "naughty," someone else might see "sexualized" and think that they would rather not have to worry about having their sensibilities shocked.
I'm glad that people feel free to speak up if something bothers them. None of us needs to defend ourselves - it's just a difference of opinion.
Holy cow! Has the poster who was offended by the naked women holding hands ever been to a museum? That card looked like a portion of a Grecian frieze! Who was the famous Justice of the Supreme court who stated that " I can't define pornography, but I know it when I see it"?
I tought that the cards were cute and was not offended at all.
In think all the cards shown were really good...
I think the bra theme is really good for Breast cancer ie: Thanks for the support etc...Panties are cute too....But then again I made Boob Mugs in ceramics 25 years ago as gift for DH and our guy friends...
It would have to be obscene to offend me. (although I have seen some stamp images that I find "Creepy"....
I am mainly a lurker here, but always enjoy the more 'controversial' threads.
I wasn't at all offended, and I do want to thank the OP for pointing me in the direction of these wonderful cards as I would have otherwise missed them.
That said, I fully support her right to voice her opinion regarding them and I do not believe it was a call to have the images removed, just the start of a conversation.
I love that we now, as women, can happily discuss topics that have historically been taboo. The use of 'boobs' and 'butts' to me is about empowerment. That we are women and we are proud of the things the Gods -- no offense intended with my pluralization ;) -- have graced us with.
My sister will be leaving for a well earned vacation in the sun and I am definitely making her a bright red bon voyage version of these 'butt-cards' to remind her to pack her sunscreen.
