I'm in the process of reorganizing my "stuff" and I saw that people are taking the background stamps out of the box and leave them free standing, so I did that. Then the epiphany hit me. It looks as though that 2 families of spots would fit in this box. And wouldn't you know it, IT DOES. I have all the big pads of classic and only the spots of craft...........now I can see them all!!!
Had to share, sorry if someone else had already figured this one out.
Happy organizing!!!!!
That is totally a moment of clarity!!! I just went and changed them all over!! So much easier to see now and less stuff on my desk!! Thanks so much for sharing!!
Too cool! To hijack just a little, are you happy with the craft spots instead of the full sized pads? I have all of the regular pads, and just finished buying the re-inkers. I have heard that the craft pads are a much more vibrant color, so I've been thinking about buying them. But, they are expensive, so I've been thinking spots.
Are you happy with them?
If I get them, you've given me a way to store them!
I love the craft spots because they are easier to control the "gunkyness" of them. I now emboss almost everything........ use the craft for your stamping and throw some clear embossing powder over it, heat it and it's awesome!!!!

Thank you for taking the time to share what now seems so obvious. At first, I thought you were going to say that taking the BGs out was ano no - and I just did that a month ago.
And, DUH, I've been looking at all kind of containers for my craft spots - while those containers were wrapped in a package in my closet. I've used several for on going projects but this is by far the BEST! TFS
to lynnewithane,
I'd say go for the spots over the actual pads. I have about half of the craft pads, but I am finding that I prefer the spots unless I'm doing a bigger stamp like the BGs. With the BGs, I find I must use the rollers to control the ink. If I had it to do over again, I'd just get the colors I love for BGs in the pads and all of the spts. IMHO

Noe...Too funny!
Thanks for all of your opinions. Nothing better than saving a bunch of money!
I love this idea - looks like a perfect fit and it's great that they're all visible. I don't have too many of the spots yet but this makes me want to buy more. Thanks for posting.

I can't believe this! I had the identical epiphany!!! First I thought I was so brave for taking my BG stamps out of the box... then I thought I was a genious for putting my craft spots in them (yes, I loooovvvve my spots, a real splurge for me). They store so handy in them! I guess we can say we are both geniouses!!! Too funny.

Of course all of us would have figured it out eventually.....because we are all brilliant women!!!!!!!!!
I also mixed the families up and sorted them by color.
OMG! You didn't!? (hear my exclamation?)
Ok - I only have one family of spots (craft), but I plan to purchase more... now I know what to do with my cases. I, too, was brave last week and took my backgrounds out of their homes.
I actually have put the non-SU stamps (gasp, I know, the horror!!) that I have purchased (you know, the "Can't pass it up, it's only $1!" stamps) in the two empty background cases I had. I was just reorganizing this weekend (instead of actually stamping!) and did this. As I was doing so, I thought, "Boy, I'm glad it is the Background special this month so I will have more empty cases for the rest of these stamps!". I plan to buy at least three BG stamps so that is three more cases! Who would have thought I would be this excited over empty boxes!
I only have one set of spots so far, so I will probably just leave them in the nifty little box they came in.
What a great idea! Hmmmm... I'll be ordering some of my first background stamps during this April promotion. Does this mean I should buy some craft spots at the same time just so I'll have something to put in the boxes if I decide to store the bg stamp out of the box? ;)
I had mine in those too, until I realized I could get all 48 into an 8 1/2 x 11" acrylic box frame! I have all the craft and all the classic spots, got 2 frames and they fit, on top of each other, in one of my Iris Cart drawers! Got the frames when Michael's had 'em on sale for $2-something each!

This is totally awesome!!!!!! Women are going to be buying frames and BG stamps...........spots!!!!! COOL:cool:
Thank you for posting this! I went ahead and did this and then took it a step farther! I punched out little squares of each color and used my CE to attach them to the backs of the spots. That way I can store them upside-down in the cases

I love you all! You've made my little organizing heart so happy! I use my classic and craft spots all the them. Stamp boxes are the perfect way to store them! And Laura's idea is just the icing on the cake. Mmmm....cake....
