What in the WORLD are these things? They look SO cool - I printed out the one that was available in another thread (Wow, Beate!) but I am completely unsure of how it is supposed to be used? Can someone explain to me what you would use this for - because I think this is something I should want to use!
Also, in her directions, Beate said to stamp the whole sheet like it was wallpaper - should you be paying attention to the placement of your stamp as it pertains to the section of the cardstock?
Am I overthinking this?? Please help me! I am DESPERATE to be a good stamper!

Ok deep breath, now what you do is stamp an entire sheet all over, go off the edges for best result since you want it all to look the same once it is cut up! I find it best to start with the largest stamp. then graduate down.
Then you cut up your stamped sheet as per the instructions and then you creat the project! In my gallery you will find a template to a 12x12 OSW that makes over twenty cards...it is really fun. IF you don't have any 12x12 you can chose four of the six peices that are card front size and boom it is a OSW for 8.5 x 11. You will also see all the cards I made from it in my gallery so you have an idea of what it looks like! Have fun!
*panting*, *panting*, *panting*... Okay. I'm a little better. Thanks for your replies, guys - I am headed straight for the galleries and all the links you left for me.
I am so glad that my demo steered me here - I *have* taken the first step toward good stamping!

Also, I'm in Indiana. Recently there was a meeting that my uplines- upline held in the Florence, Ky - Cincinatti, OH area. They did a 6x6 using, I guess, a OSW technique. I loved it. I won't see my upline for several weeks. I saw her completed album. This is exactly what i need to get started. Does anyone have any of these templates? I would love one.

I just did a 6x6 OSW workshop too and it was awesome. Unfortnately, we are in the middle of getting a new computer so I can't scan the template but if you PM me and give me your address I'll mail a copy to you.
I *have* taken the first step toward good stamping!
You have also taken the first step toward bankruptcy! er... I mean you have taken the first step toward a fun and rewarding addiction...er hobby! Yeah, that's it!
By the way, I tried Keri's OSW. WOW... it seems the cards will never end. I have about 5 or so left to go, and I've made 13 or so.
One important hint... stamp it thoroughly. Leave very little white space. Once you cut it up, some pieces will look bare if you haven't stamped enough. I had to go back and add some stamping once the sheet was cut up. I still don't think it was enough either.
Have fun and welcome to SCS!

TELL ME ABOUT IT! LOL... I sat with the 2004-5 catty today just to play around and see what I would put on a wishlist... Oh dear GOD - it was neverending.
My DH says I can collect all the material I want but if I don't know how to use it, it's worthless. I say, "That's what the folks at SCS are for - they'll show me the way!"

Thanks C~
And it is able to make more than I did, I screwed up on one piece and then you are able to put less peices on one card than a few that had more than one!!! It is so fun...I should have done my Christmas cards like that! I have twelve done, twelve almost done and thirty six left to START! YIKES :!:
Oh, Keri, it wasn't meant to be a criticism! It was meant to be a WOW... you will get a lot of cards out of this technique! I actually had to go to your gallery to get some ideas because I couldn't think of anything else! I'm not so creative, but I'm a great CASEr!
I get together with a few others pretty regularly and stamp. I took your template, 12x12 paper, and told everyone to get to it! It was a hit!
Hugs,
C

You have definitely come to the right place for inspiration, help, and support!!! SCS has a great group (20000+ and growing!!!) who are always willing to help!!
Jump right in!! Ask away!! Post away!! Want to see more of your work!!

I am so happy and excited that I find all of you in love with my original idea for the way I do my workshops. The one sheet wonder has made my life a whole lot easier. If you go into the S.U. web site you will find under communications December 2003 Stampin Success you will find a 3 page article on how I do this and there are two templates. Go see. So Fun!!!!!!!
stamp with me soon, Karen
Keep your eyes open  -
There is a OSW swap going on that I participated in. It will be swapped back out soon. So a few more patterns & ideas should be posted in the near future!
