Ok, I couldn't wait to try one of those adorable onesie cards that Lauren Meader had posted on her blog...here's the link in case you missed it....Lauren, thanks SO MUCH for sharing.
I'm having problems punching through the 2 layers of cardstock. I have the EK Success 1 3/8" circle punch, bought from JoAnn's, which I thought was the same as the SU punch. Does the SU punch go through both layers no problem? Mine will not go through.
I'm thinking I will need to use the Creative Memories circle cutter and cut either a 1.25" or 1.5" circle, centered over the fold, with the card open flat. Unless somebody out there has another idea for me! I'm so bummed.
I haven't tried these yet but that was something I was wondering about actually as I was driving home from work last night. Yes, I think about card creating on my drive to/from work.
Stampin' Up punches are made by EK Success, so they are the same. Though they are large and heavy in size, they certainly don't cut through anything heavy (even some heavy card stock). I would suggest using the Coluzzle or by hand or using a thinner cardstock for the project.
I too wish the punches were more heavy duty for their size.
Sorry, can't help. I have the creative memories double punch and you can flip that thing over (button style punch) and put a lot of force on it, and I have gotten it to punch 2 layers of SU CS. You can try and punch one layer and close the card and outline the circle lightly with a pencil. Then you can flip your punch over and line up the outlined circle with your punch, and punch the second hole. GL!

That's what I thought, although Lauren's blog tutorial shows the punch being used for the neckline. I was starting to wonder if I chose a less expensive punch, only to regret it. Maybe Lauren used a lighter weight paper. I just ordered the CM circle cutter...hope it shows up in the mail today! I can't wait to complete my card.
Thanks everybody, and sorry for those multiple posts above! My laptop went wonky this morning.
OK, I have good news! I sharpened my punch by punching through several layers of heavy duty foil, (did this a few times), then through waxed paper, and voila! Now it goes through 2 layers. Seems like an obvious solution, but I had no idea how much of a difference it would make, especially since my punch is new. AND, my CM circle cutters (bought on the 'bay) arrived in the mail, so I have those to use as an option. No longer bummed! I'm going to sharpen ALL my punches.

Yeah! Thanks for the tip on shapening your punches too! I will have to try that on some of mine!
