I've received a couple of cataloga from Oriental Trading - appears they've gone the crafting route. I've not been pleased with some of the other things I've ordered from them (not craft related). Has anyone ordered from these new "scrapping/stamping" catalogs??
I love the craft side... the papers/kits are ones I have seen in Hobby Lobby (higher price there). I like the brades and stickers, and even had good luck with ribbons. I just purchased the cooking scrapbooking stuff... I like it.

my experience
I have ordered OT crafty stuff a couple of times and thought:
Good Quality/Value
-paper flowers
-brads
Average Quality/Value
-paper boxes
-stickers
-printed chipboard
Low Quality/Value
-rubber stamp
I may order from them again from the latest catalog, there are a few things that interest me.

I've ordered a paper stack from them before. It's the same ol' stack sold everywhere else. I also ordered some tin purses. They're not as good quality as ProvoCraft, but they work... and they're cheap. I do want to order some of those brads and eylets though and a few other things though.
I was really happy with my order. I ordered some chipboard, brads, and acrylic stamps (and was pleased that they weren't ordinary flourish stamps but Autumn Leaves) that were sold out other places. The prices are reasonable as well.
I bought some tins (sets of 3) and 2 tin purses, the front fasteners came off the first time I tried it. The rivets came right through the tin. Thank goodness for Gorilla glue, but still shouldn't have had to repair them.:(
I have ordered from them . . .
large clothes pins
purse tin tab insert (for patterns hehe)
round desktop organizer ( still needs more stuff in it lol )
4x4 clipboards (like the ones on the front of the spring SU )
I have been extremely pleased with everything so far.
they are somewhat fast on deliveries too.
I have ordered quite a few products from those catties and have liked every item except colorful brads shaped like flowers (funky prongs on the back need too much room on the paper!). Also, if you order a tin, note the measurements and be sure it is the size you want compared to what is at the craft store. Lots of cute embellishments and I LOVE my stamp set with sports related sayings.

I have also ordered from Oriental Trading quite a few times and have been very happy with the merchandise and the service. My order last week came very quickly--had it within 4 days. I found gold and silver 2007 brads which will be perfect for my step-daughter's graduation party invitations and graduation ribbon with adhesive backing that is really cute. Also, the congratulations background stamp that I ordered works great. Can you tell I will be doing a lot of graduation items--my husband is also a high school teacher so I have to make cards for the seniors that he coaches.

I have ordered Altoid-type tins, cd tins, tin purses, board books, travel mugs, foam mounting tape, microscope slides, triangle boxes and pillow boxes. I have a friend who has ordered rub-ons, chipboard shapes, a flip book and some accordion albums. Everything has been great, except for our last order of tin purses, as they seem to have changed manufacturers.

Mary Beth I've had the flower brads and your right the prongs are too long. What I did was take my little wire cutters I use for jewelry and cut part of them off. It worked pretty good. I have been happy with everything that I have ordered from OTC.
I've ordered from them MANY times. I just got an order the other day for a tin purse I was going to re-do for a friend coming to visit in May. The front clasp was broken when I got it in the mail. I was so bummed. I thought that I'd return it because I have time, I just dont want the hassle. Thanks for the tip to use the gorilla glue!
Other than that I order a lot of their flowers, brads and eyelets... I'm pleased with them. And the shipping is super fast!

I have ordered from them as well. But I have to say that it doesn't seem to be as good a quality as I have seen in other places. Like the Autumn Leaves school pack I had bought it once and noticed they carried it and wanted to get another set at their lower price. When i got their's the paper was a lot thinner. Just not as nice a quality.
