My dtr and I went to our monthly stamp club meeting last night and I bought more than I intended AGAIN. And after I left, realized I FORGOT to order one of the main things I wanted! LOL Do you all ever do that?
I gave up thinking I'd remember that one thing and started making lists. Then I started keeping the lists in my purse, right in with my coupons. That's the only way I ever manage to leave with the thing I wanted.
Yup - I go with a list. Invariably I forget to order the colour of cardstock that I needed the most. Overbuying at our monthly club - rarely. I think long and hard about those monthly orders. If I overbought by $10/month I'd be over by $100 over the 10 months and I might as well spend that $100 in one shot plus add a little more to make the minimum for hostess benefits and do my own order. I try very hard to stick to the club minimum purchasing requirement - unless it's my month to hostess.

on several occasions i have had a 'running tab' with my friend/demo.
i was over yesterday stamping and added purely pom. CS to my tab, which already had crystal effects on it.
then i just add what is on my list when we have club.
she is such a great person. we worked on using up some PP yesterday and next week we are gonna work on some christmas cards. i plan a couple cards and take the stuff for us to make 2 each and she does the same. i came home with 10 cards yesterday!
The minimum in both my monthly clubs is $25.00 so I generally go over. I do go armed with a list I've compiled through the month and generally avoid impulse buying!

Our Monthly Stampers Club mininum is $30....there are only 5 of us in this club. $30 is do able but, I almost always go over.
I take my catty to Office Depot and have it rebound with coils....I have them put a few sheets of paper in the back for my 'Lists'. I try to stick to the lists.
Yes, my minimum is $15. Every month I spend at least $50 except once I got away with $35. My month is coming up in August so that will probably be the month everyone cuts way back.

I know what you mean!!! Not trying to be catty--- but it always seems my month the least is spent!
I would say that if you did up a list before hand at least you would remember to order what you need/want...but if I were in a stamp club I'd be going over too!
I overbuy every month... for two years I was in a CTMH and SU club each month and that was getting pretty pricey! Now I'm in just one monthly club... and our min is only $15, I usually spend over $50 and don't mind cause I need the product, plus it helps the hostess out... ;)
I'm not in a stamp club, but my demo emails all her customers each month and lets us know when she is placing an order during the month (usually around the 20th) so we can order without having to always have a workshop/party. I make up a wish list everytime the new catty comes out and each month I decided what I need to get off that list, my DH has me on a budget for my craft stuff so I am usually pretty good about sticking within that limit, but there have been times when I have gone over budget because I just had to have it this month it couldn't wait, at least that's what I tell him.
Our club meets every two months and the minimum is $25... which is small for me. I usually spend $80- $100 and that puts me at about $50 per month. I belong to a really good club and we switch up months so no one always the same month each year. That way everyone gets a turn at being the hostess when the new catalog is out, for sale-abration, retiring list, etc. It works well for us.

I'm also one with a list. Actually, I have a small notebook, keep a list of CS, DP, Ribbon, markers and reinkers that I already have, and a list of other things I want or need, and when purchased, move them to the have list. I also carry my catolog with me with the stamp sets I already have checked off and a list of those I want.
I make out my order BEFORE I go to the stamp camp. This means I need to sit down and think ahead of time, have a chance to go through my supplies to see what I need, and have a total ready that does not go over my budget. If I find other things I like while at camp, they go on my list, and I can take it home and review it before the next order. Often, those things I MUST HAVE end up being something I think better of before the next order.
I was just in an club, and it was so hard to stick with the minimum, but I had to ;) I am proud of myself!
But, I am not usually that self-controlled. ;) We are about to close on a house, so all of our money is into that, moving and then buying things for it right now.
Give me several months of buying new stamping supplies withdrawls, and I will be so eager for joining another SU! club and maybe a CTMH club...my bank account will be on fire! lol
I just finished a club and LOVED it - but I went WAY over every month! I even had a list! My problem was that I would like a product we used that night to make our cards and add it or see something someone else was getting and add it!
I am in an online hostess club and do MUCH better sticking to mins with it so I gave up my other club and found an online one with same company. I guess for me it was the peer pressure!!!!
I am a demo. Most of my gals take a blank order form with them for the next month. They fill in things they run out of and the stuff they want. This does several things:
1. they don't forget items
2. they stick to their budget (others add a bunch of stuff at the meeting)
3. they got out of my house quicker on stamp night
I give them a new form each time. Ask your demo for a blank form,

Oh my. I just figured out how much I would spend in a year if I keep spending like I have for the past three months. Um, I think July's goal will be to keep it at $15. Vee, I think I will ask for a form this time too. I am notorious for taking too long to place my order; it would be nice to speed up the process AND stay in budget. I've hardly touched what I bought last month, I certainly don't need much more.
I usually overspend. I only buy my Stampin' Up supplies at club, so by the time I add in the card stock that I've run out of and the re-inkers I need I hit 15$. But, that's no fun, so I usually add in a set or a punch and then I've doubled my quota.
I'm ok with that and my groups is so wonderful, they know I go over on their months and they usually go over on mine!

What a great idea! I'm going to start doing this for my stamp club gals.
As a demo, I keep a running "wishlist" order in OEX (SU's ordering system).
