I read this somewhere (a stamping or card magazine but can't remember which one) that paper dolls were going to be a trend for fall.... I've searched via google and the SCS gallery and coming up with nothing. I know there were some old paper doll sets from SU and TAC has some cute ones in their current catalog, but I just stared at the catalog with nary a creative thought coming to me.... anyone have any ideas how these 'paper dolls' are going to be used or are being used?

thanks! I'm checking it out. Somehow I knew this kind of doll wasn't going to get me excited about the trend.
I almost spewed my tea all over my keyboard! i keep thinking of something like that doll being used on a card or sb layout and it keeps cracking me up.
i remember the paper dolls of yesteryear used in scrapbooking and they were kind of creepy to me. i hope they don't bring back those kind!
I remember paper dolls being trendy in the past--geeze, anybody remember PaperKins?! They were *everywhere*!!! Lordy, I even have some on a scrapbook layout I did for my kids a number of years ago and I now cringe every time I look at it. ack!
Funny, that paper dolls are a returning trend . . . I hadn't heard that . . . Art Paper dolls have been around for quite some time, like the ones you linked us to, but I've never been inclined to make one in that particular art style . . .
Hmmmmm. aaaaah well. To each his own! ;)

I admit I have one of those sets (in mini version)! I thought it would make a nice get well card for some little girl...the paper doll and then some outfits to play with. Luckily, I guess, no one has been sick and I haven't had a chance to make it. :???:
At the TAC Studio online they have a scrapbook page layout with a paper doll stamp set -- and the dresses are stamped on Basic Grey papers. It looks kinda neat but it's true that the uses are pretty limited with a set like this.
Here is a card posted recently using a paper doll. Not sure this is what everyone is talking about but thought the card was darn cute Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
You know I didn't think they were awful either. I just recently did a scrapbook page with them on it. It's in my gallery. They are sissix dolls thought.
Somebody was on with Sandy G. on Scrapbooking the other day showing how to use paper dolls on scrapbook pages. What they made was really cute, but I can't see using it on a card.

That was an episode from 2002, I'm almost positive that's what TIVO said. I think paper dolls like that episode are passe, been there done that kind of thing.

Hey now! I liked the Paperkins dolls. I only bought a few of the ready made one, but have the templates to draw my own- they were pretty cheap.
I hadn't thought to put dolls on cards, but they still go on the occasional scrapbook page. Since I don't use magazines for ideas- I really don't know what the trends are.
