Partial images without markers...

I know I'm going to have to break down and buy the markers, but in the mean time, what is the best way to 'delete' part of an image.

For example, I see so many cards made with Cowboy Kid that omit the mustache.

Well, typically, markers are the best and easiest way to omit. You could try inking up the whole image, and then cleaning off the mustache with a damp Qtip. But, that may not yield great results; there's often residual ink that didn't get completely removed . . . You can also see if inking very very carefully with only the corner of an ink spot enables you to maneuver around enough to avoid the mustache.

I try to use a piece of tape or post it note to cover up the area that I don't want, ink the image and then remove the tape/post-it.

Maybe just go to your LSS and buy a single black brush tip marker? I find that if I'm doing the omit technique, I almost always use black.
