Pencil Pouches

Okay, I love the idea of making a pencil pouch for teachers. Tomorrow is my son's open house and I would love to give a gift to all the teachers. However, I don't have a crimper to crimp the bottom of the pouch and every sample I see has that done to it. Can it be done without the crimp, or is it best to have the crimp? Thanks for your help.

The crimping is just for decoration, so you don't have to have it. Just be sure to glue the bottom of the pencil pouch closed so the pencils won't slide out.

I made those pencil pouches at my stamp camp last month. I cut the cs 4 1/4 by 8 1/2" and scored at 2" and again at 2" which left a 1/4" flap for the sides. I then scored 3/8" up from the bottom and cut off the corners and one of the bottom flaps to fold up on the bottom. (this way, I only folded and glued down one thickness on the bottom flap) I taped the whole thing together with little pieces of the new sticky strips. They worked wonderfully and were a bit hit. I wouldn't say the bottoms were decorative, but they were serviceable. I stamped all over the whole pouch so you didn't notice the bottoms weren't decoratively done; one with the Bug Builders in primary colors and the other with the Simple Shapes in 3 colors of pink and 3 colors of green. This way, I showed them a pouch that could be used for school kids and a pouch that could be used for a gift for a friend or a luncheon favor.
