Default polished stone

Can anyone tell me how this technique is done? I was asked to demo it and have no idea how. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here is a post that has an explanation as well as a link to a site with pictures:

It's not too hard but do practice it a little before the workshop.

Hope this helps!

There are MANY variations on how to do this technique.

Here's the way I did it:
Using glossy cardstock, take a cotton ball dipped in rubbing alcohol. Take 2 colors of reinker and a metallic reinker. Put a drop of one color on the top and bottom and one drop of the other color on the left and right. Put a drop of the metallic in the center. Now, "pounce" your cotton ball randomly on the cardstock until it is covered. Spray with hairspray to seal or you will get metallic ink all over your hands!! That's all there is to it!!

To find out other variations, click on "Search" above, then type "polished stone" in the criteria and click the "search all terms" button. Then choose Techniques and Templates from the forum box and click search. You should get a TON of results.

Hope this was helpful - good luck!

Okay ~ well, I went to the resources page thinking it had been added since it's been "coming soon" since I got here, but it's not there.

This is how I learned (which is to say it might not be the same for everyone)
Take glossy card stock, a piece of felt, reinkers (two colors of choice and one metalic), and some rubbing alcohol.

Dip the felt into the rubbing alcohol.
Place a couple drops from each of the reinkers on the felt.
Run the felt over the glossy card stock.
Let dry.

After drying lightly buff with tissue.

It works for me, but I'm sure others have a different method.
