I am newer to SCS. I just am amazed at all your projects, ideas, etc. I've only been stamping for 1 year. Just out of curiousity, how many sets of stamps do you all have?
too many to count, I have only been stamping about a year and a half but I am very lucky and can buy almost anytime I want and spend hundreds of dollars at a time(which is why I became a demo). I also bought lots of stamp sets from ebay, before I became a demo and needed new sets only.
Before I became a demo I had 40+ sets mostly retired ones. I just purchased the starter kit in the beginning of this month which added 8 sets and then placed 2 more orders which I ordered about 10 more sets. So I think I'll be up to about 60 sets in Dec.
I read your thread and became curious as to how many I have . . . so I had to go count. I have 85 and more on the way. I'm very fortunate to be able to afford them. I used to tease my husband about having enough fishing gear to open a tackle shop. Maybe my summer I'll have enough stamps and accessories to open a stamp shop! I just started stamping this past July and I'm hooked, or should I say addicted.
well, funny you should ask! I just re-organized all my stamps last night, and counted them as well. I curently have 226 stamp sets. but now I can find exactly what I need when I need it, so I'm off to stamp! lol
I could tell ya', but then I'd hafta kill ya'! ;) ROTFLMBO!
Actually, I've never counted the sets, but I'd guesstimate I own between 3 & 4,000 images total. But, that's nothing: Suze Weinberg's collection exceeds 10,000, from an article I read bout her at one time.

Over 2,000.....I think......haven't really counted in a long time. 18 years of collecting......can't seem to bring myself to get rid of the really old designs. The minute I do, I'll need it.

Here I thought I spent a lot of money! I have 46 sets and 8 wheels. But I just was introduced to SU about a year ago. But I have been stamping for 8 years, and have some various loose stamps from crafts stores. I've sold most of those though, and given away some. I had maybe about 100 before I did that.
I try to limit the amount of sets I buy, in order to get more accessories. Like the ink pads, spots, markers, paper, and punches.
Probably over 300, but I have been working on my collection for 9 1/2 years! I have traded a few and sold a few that I don't use as much. How sick am I?

Why did you have to ask this?? LOL You MADE me wonder...I have often wondered...but seeing as I never stamped a day in my life before I signed up in Feb, I was afraid to know. I counted and have 125 sets purchased in 10 months..oh my...did I really want to know that?
But hey something must be working as I achieved all goals I set for myself as a demo! I have 125 sets of Stamps to thank, and tons of great customers & a fantastic downline!
I love SU!
Edit: I didn't actually BUY them all...I did get many free from SU!
I'll have to show this thread to my husband. He needs to see that 70 sets is NOTHING compared to where I'm headed!
I was thinking the same thing. I thought I had a lot, probably close to 40. I am really trying to not buy stamps for a while. I have some great ones that I forget I have. Need to use what I have. So, I will focus my spending on accessories

...Is that 2,000 SU! sets???? 2,000 stamps...has SU! had 2,000 sets since they started?
Before I moved to Texas earlier this year, I counted and had about 150 sets. I probably have about 165 right now. I've been stamping for about 4 years. I also have a good amount of unmounted stamps and various amounts of non-SU! wood mounted stamps. I also collect non-SU! alphabet sets if I like the font. I've bought, traded, and sold some sets along the way...if I find sets at a good price that I like I buy them along the way. I love buying used sets that are nicely trimmed...then I don't have to put them together! Not that I mind, but those alphabets can be a lot of work!
Oh gosh, how could I forget about my wheels!?!? I have 2 shoebox fulls. Probably about 60. I'm waiting for my new wheel boxes I ordered from SU! to organize them. Can't wait!

Oh thank goodness! I have over six hundred SU sets, including wheels. My family thinks I am nuts. I also keep the retired sets. I bought them because I like them and can't bear to part with them.
Not a demo, just love to stamp as a hobby but I have 99 sets exactly. I have listed the names of all my sets on an excel spreadsheet along with their price and the year I purchased the set. Why, I don't really know....organized I guess.

Your spreadsheet sounds like a great record for insurance purposes! Speaking of which, would any insurance company believe the amount of money we all have invested in our stamps if our homes were to burn down!? Does anyone have experience with submitting an insurance claim for stamps?
Hi!
I have a lot, but I have also been stamping over 11 years, I used to be a SU demp but retired from selling in July. I don't sell off any retired stamps or stamps I haven't used in a long time. I figure eventually I'll use them. I even have a set of close to 300 stamps (an old printing kit with words, letters and images) it's dated 1932. It's way cool, but not all the images work as well as modern stamps do, the dies are mounted on wooden handles with no cushion. But they're neat for collage work.
All together I own 6,393 individual images.
Wheels - 147 of which 47 are Stampin' Up!
Individual Stamps - 822 of which 114 are Stampin' Up!
Sets - 494 of which 415 are Stampin' Up!
DH knows he helped me set up my stamping area and used to help carry the SU boxes from UPS. He would just rather not know how much I've paid, he just doesn't ask. LOL!!!

I tried that for a while. When I first started, I bought a few ink pads and focused on stamps. Then I decided to use what I had, and focus on accessories. Now I have all the ink pads and re-inkers, markers, EP, etc., so I am back to buying new sets. I, too, have my sets on the computer ( a word document, not a spreadsheet) and it needs to be updated. I have the year, but not the price.....maybe next year.
It's amazing how many sets I can't live without!
You girls are scaring me...I am waiting on my order to get here and I spent just under $500 all on myself! DH says "Merry Christmas." I think this site is turning me into an addict myself. I have various stamps from craft and scrapbooking stores that are singles, but the sets are all SU. I hate to go downstairs and count, and since I have the space for tables and chairs and it stays set up, my family comes to my house and stores all of their things here too. We are amassing a great collection...I've only been a demo since October, and already have more than I am currently using. I better get with it! (Don't let DH know, remember, I HAD to have them for workshops! lol!);) I think organizing is a great idea, especially for insurance reasons...but wouldn't that cut into my stamping time???:p
I have about 50 SU sets and about 40 other Anna Griffin stamps. I have about another 35 miscellaneous stamps that "grabbed" me when I've travelled to the states.

I know it's over 100, but I also have a large rubbermaid tub full of retired sets tucked away. I will count tomorrow and post my actual number. . .I'm interested to know myself!

I've been using SU! products since 1996. However, I only had two sets between 96 and this year. I bought my first, recent set in Dec. 2004 (??), became a demo in July 2005, and now have about....eh'.... 45 sets. It's more addictive than crack...not that I've ever done crack for comparrison, but you know what I mean. LOL

That's a fabulous idea!! What a great way to keep track. Although, I'd probably have to keep mine password protected so the hubby didn't have an heart attack. ;)

I couldn't even give a good guess on how many I have. Not a thousand though!! I would have to guess around 250-300 and I will be adding that when the new book comes out in December. The really bad part is, I had all these stamp sets before and never really knew what to do with them, so I sold almost all of them. Then a neighbor became a demo. and I started my collection again. I am so happy my husband understands.

so when you all have that many, how do you find them easily?? I haven't counted mine, and I have them all on shelves above my desk. Even though they are right there, I still spend a lot of time trying to find the one set that I want to use>>>> what do you guys do?
I have 395 sets which includes 61 wheels! Very fun addiction. I also have 146 sets of CTMH and alot of Hero Arts as well. I just recently purchased some of the most wonderful alphabet acrylic stamps from Memory Trends that have not arrived yet. All in all I bet I have close to 600 sets. Not sure what that would equate in images, but definately in the thousands.
To keep them organized I came up with a very detailed category system and have them input on an Excel worksheet that I devised to track what I have. When I get a new set, I determine which category it goes in, then list it on the Alphabetical Worksheet, and then the Inventory Worksheet where I put what each stamp looks like and any words that are included. This way I can simply do a "Find" and the worksheet will list what I am looking for and take me right to the sets where the stamp is. Hope this helps and doesn't make it more confusing. Also there is a fellow SCS that will sell you a complete listing of all SU stamps color coded for retired/current that you can purchase for about $10. Then you can input your sets and have a great record or each set, what it cost, current/retired, which page in the cataloge etc. Very much worth the price.
69 SU sets - and only about 8 sets left on my wish-list from this years' catty, those mostly being backgrounds. I'm enjoying having a nice stock of things I like to work from, without always feeling like there's a critical item I've got to have.
I am looking forward to SAB, though! ;-)

I have no idea at this time, but one of these days I'll have to count. I have probably a couple of hundred. I have been at this for 5 years and love, love, love it! I have a terrible time parting with retired sets and have two huge boxes of them ( I do pull them out at times)
Well, I did a quick count and came up with 175 - not counting all my retired sets and the non (Yes) SU ;-0
I really still have a want list also, and did I mention I need all the SAB sets.

My SU! sets have the label from the index sheet on the end of the box. All sets are on shelves about 11" deep with the ends facing out, and are categorized:
I have no idea. There's too many to count, but I've been stamping for 8+yrs too. Right now all my sets are either in the computer room, my bedroom, or hallway (for Christmas). All my individual stamps are in plastic boxes in the living room.
Wow! I have only been stamping for a year and just counted mine the other day. I have nothing compared to most of you!!! 140 stamp sets and 20 wheels so far!
I don't have very many SU sets at the moment, but if my current wishlist (modified) stands when SAB comes along I'll more than double the amount of sets
Then ofcourse there's all the odds and ends non SU stamps. Some of them came in sets while others were single purchases. Don't have a count on those, but they do fill two drawers in one of those 3 drawer 12x12 sterilite drawer units.
