Default portfolio pattern from 2 pocket notebook?

Awhile ago one of the gals at a stamping evening said that she makes portfolios out of the cheap 2 pocket notebooks that you get on sale for several for $1 - has anyone made these? Anyone have a pattern?
Thanks

Is this the type of thing you are looking for? It is made from a 2 pocket folder to hold cards.

These are really SO easy to make, a pattern isn't even necessary. Take a folder and, with it closed so both sides match, trim the upper corners in. Think tag tops --

When you open up the folder you fold each side down so they're like flaps going over the pockets. When you decide how far down you want the flap to cover -- all the way to the bottom? maybe leave an inch of the bottom showing, or more? SCORE your fold lines so you'll have a nice crease.

I use velcor dots to hold them shut. To match the dots up, keep both sides together, remove the sticky protector on one side and put it in place on the flap. Then remove the other side's sticky and shut the flap. This way they'll be in perfect alignment.

Then all you have to do is decide how you want to decorate it! If you want a ribbon closure, try hole punching the sides so you can run a piece of ribbon through for a tie. Or you could use more velcor. Lots of ways--just play!

Most of all HAVE FUN PLAYING!

Hugs,
Betsy

Betsy-
Do you spit the middle so you have two flaps or just leave it and the entire top opens?
I see the folders are on sale again I think at Walgreens or Snyders I might have to go and pick up a few.

Not quite sure I'm following what you're asking...when you open the folder there's a left side and a right side, yes? Each side has one fold down flap. I'm not sure why you'd want to split these flaps, unless maybe you ran a line of sticky tape down the middle of each pocket, splitting it into two pockets. So you'd have a total of four pockets in the folder?

Sorry...still sorta low on caffeine this morning....let me know if I've totally missed what you're asking...

Hugs,
Betsy

I see your great picture - worth a thousand words!!! You did split the top (non pocket part) in the middle.
thanks
