If I dry emboss a card with my cuttlebug embossing folders. Can I then cover it with versamark and glitter it or heat emboss it? would that work?
or would heat and stick powder work? ( I don't have any but could order it).

Do you want to emboss the whole lot, or just the "up" bit? I can't see why either wouldn't work - haven't tried it though. If you just want the raised parts, I'd slide the Versamark gently over it. If you want it all, press harder. Go on - give it a try ... and report back please!
I bet that it would look good with the spots and dots cuttlebug folder if you were using it as a water background - thanks for the idea - I'll have to try it!
I have thought about doing this myself but haven't gotten around to it. I agree that the brayer would be better than running the ink pad over it. Maybe I will have to give it a shot myself.
OK, so I tried it and it took a little practice to get it right. The secret is to not press to hard with the brayer or you get the versamark on the unraised parts too. I'll have a picture in just a minute.
Here is the picture of my third attempt. I used Versamark and some EP I have called Transluscent that gives it a good sparkle. I really like how it turned out and will be doing this again.
Love how it turned out. I can invision a snowy Christmas card done with that!!! Great idea!! Karen
The first one I tried was the snowflake one. This is how it turned out. I was so worried about getting enough versamark on the card for the EP to stick to that I got a little too much on the unraised portion. But it does give it a "snowy" look. I used white ep on this one of course. That's when I figured out that you can't push too hard with the brayer.

I think the first one you showed (your third attempt) is stunning and I think you are going to inspire some great cards --------- I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

yeah that happened to me too! I was using the dots and spots folder. it wasn't pretty. I'll have to try again and not press so hard.

Very very cool! I was just thinking yesterday about how I want to use my snowflakes folder for my Christmas cards this year. Yay! I just bought a couple of Quickutz dies yesterday that I plan on using too... the polar bear and a pine tree. Now to get to work on them.
