Default Prang colored pencils

Are Prang good quality pencils? I saw them at HL today, and HL didnt have a good selection of Prismacolor pencils. I almost bought Crayolas, lol....but thought that I had seen a thread a long time back that Prangs were pretty decent too.

Anyone have thoughts on this brand? And what kind or type of sharpener is best if I get these?

Smile HMM?

I have only tried Prisma but the price is not too high at Michaels because- They will be having a 50% off coupon for Memorial DAy -Also, Prisma are available on line -Look at Cheap Joe's or Mister Art.

Prang and Crayola are student-quality pencil crayons, not artist quality. I usually buy my pencils at an artist supply store (hobbie and craft stores don't usually have the good stuff). Other excellent brands aside from PrismaColor are Schwan Stabilo, Faber-Castell & Pro-Art. I also like Conte, which are actually chalk in wood pencil form. In my house, the kids get the Prangs and Crayolas. There's heaps of info on the internet about this if you do a Google search. Have fun colouring!
