Default Puppy announcement ideas anyone??

OK, I know I'm a dork, but we just got this adorable little fluffy furball of a puppy (a little yorkie) and I want to send out announcements to some of our family members with a photo. (We live away from family) I don't have any sets with puppies in them (atleast that I can remember ). I know there is a yorkie in the catalog but I didn't want to spend the money on a set I really won't use more than once. I've got an "it's a girl" stamp. Can anyone of you brilliant ladies out there help poor little ol' me out? My creative juices are dried up from sleepless nights from both of my "girls" (daughter and puppy)

I made a 2-4-6-8 box announcing our new puppy and filled it with human "puppy chow." Even though you were wanting card ideas, you could easily case the box into a card!
You can see my box in my gallery. I hope this has helped!

what about putting something like, "we've expanded our home by 4 feet"
a lot of places have the dog calendars on sale 75-90% off right now, you could get a calendar, and use the little pictures on the back for pictures on your card (that way u still get use of the calendar if u want) and u get at least 12 pics. they usually have them for all breeds. let us know what u come up with, and be sure to post it! by the way, congrats on the new puppy, im so jealous!

I have seen (and even used) an adorable puppy announcement card with torn newspaper and embossed yellow spots. I don't have a sample right now, but you get the picture. The front has several squares (different sizes for layout) of newspaper with the simulated "pee". I know it sounds goofy; but it actually is a very cute card. The sentiment can be anything appropriate for the occasion! Our last rottie pup was announced with a picture of her on the front with pawprints stamped around and then a birth announcement format on the inside with her stats!

Congratulations on your wonderful new furry friend!

This isn't really a card idea, and wouldn't work for family far away, but I thought it was such a wonderful idea that I wanted to share... My MIL was invited to a "puppy shower" when her neighbor got a new puppy. She was asked to bring old towels, old newspapers, extra dog food, old hoses, etc, that the new "mom" would then deliver to the local humane society. The new "mom" served a light lunch, they played some cute "puppy" games, and everyone enjoyed the new "baby."

She had a terrific time and felt good about donating to the shelter!
