Question Q about which ink to use with my wheel

I am looking to try the SU wheel again..lol The effect I am looking for is this- a perfect tone on tone no matter what color I'm using the wheel on.. The question is this... Should I get an empty cartridge and a versamark refill, or the embossing cartridge?? Any input is greatly welcomed here- it's been quite a while since I used a wheel. TIA

I just match the Classic Ink with the CS.

I've made my own Versamark cartridges to get the watermark look on cardstock. As I recall, the embossing cartridge image will fade over time and it won't appear that anything is stamped. If you have the pads, try it on a scrap to test.

If you make your own Versamark cartridge, ink the cartridge the day before you want to use it. Versamark ink is thicker than most cartridge inks and it will take time to saturate the pad in the cartridge. I also keep mine in a small zip closure bag to keep it from evaporating. HTH

If you don't emboss it, the embossing ink will not be visible once it dries so don't go that route unless you want your image to disappear! Classic ink works just fine for tone-on-tone effects, but VersaMark is good too if you want a slightly more subtle effect.
