I was wondering if anybody could teach me how to hide a link in a word. Like when you say you can see her card here and then you click on the word here and it takes you to the link. Make sense? Thank you!
OK. First of all, go to your profile by clicking on your name at the top of the page. Just check under Edit Options, down at the very bottom under miscellaneous options, that you have Enhanced Interface, full WYSIWYG editing selected.
Now, have two windows open - the one where you are making the post, and the one you wish to link to.
In the one you wish to link to, select the address in the address bar by right-clicking and choose copy from the menu.
In the one where you are making the post, type the text. Like This is my submssion for today's challenge. Now, sometimes the full editing box shows, sometimes if it is offering you Quick Reply or Go Advanced, you need to click on Go Advanced.
Now you should see a whole bunch of formatting options like B for bold, I for Italic, justification and so on. The 11th icon along the second row above the text editing box is a little circle / globe with a chain. Got it?
Right, with the mouse select the text you want to link. Here is my submission - I am selecting just *here*
Left click on that little icon with the globe and chain. A dialogue box comes up, asking you to insert the URL. Just right click and paste the URL you copied from the page you are linking to.
In the preview, just check that it has copied properly, and then hit submit. The first couple of times I tried, I hadn't selected the http bit in the dialogue box, so I was pasting after it, and then the link wouldn't work.
I used to have a much more complicated way of doing it, and then finally I sussed this way. Hope you can too.
is it different for a Mac? I have no right click...
Glad someone else could answer that for you. Since my Dad switched from Mac to Windows what little Mac stuff I knew has been allowed to sink to the bottom of my brain and fall out .

I am not sure about this (I don't know much about this "computer World)
but scroll down a little farther and I think you will see the section (box) they are talking about. Maybe?
P>S> I 'm happy that I even found out how to PM. Now, on to the next step! lol!!!!!!!

Hmm - the only way that I have only submit reply and preview post are when I am already in Advanced. So - over the box where you are typing the message, do you have all those little icons already?
If not, then it may be some setting in your profile, and I am too busy with the last of the Christmas cards to spend a lot of time trying out various combinations right now, I am afraid. You did check in your profile as I described?
Sorry I can't help more.

i spotted the little 'earth' icon and was about to try that. but my huban was toe tappin' and ready to go. and he was willing to do some christmas shopping with me so i just took off without trying it.
then by the time i got home my daughter was home from school and she showed me... it was the little 'earth' icon that i needed to click.
thanks to all who helped!
i am an 'old dog'! i don't know what i will do when the kids are ready to move out!
Thanks for asking this question and posting the answer. I have often wondered how to do this. Now I know. Thanks!

Old dog? I think not; I could try explaining that to my Dad for days, and in the end I'd have to send him 3 type-written sheets with screen shots! And he used to teach programming, LOL. I had to talk him through installing IrfanView for looking at his photos on the PC 3 times at about an hour a go, because he kept on uninstalling it when he couldn't find the icon on the desktop.
Anyway, time to head to work. So glad you are sorted
Oh -I love the Leg Lamp! I never thought of it for congrats. I did those for my Christmas cards this year! I did not even know it was the anniversary of the movie as I just saw the movie last year for the first time. I would post my card but I already forgot how...;)

Thanks! I thought they were funny also. I'm just waiting to get the stamp, they were out of stock right now. We will be making them as x-mas cards for next year since I was all done with this year's.
The children and I were all just in this play, so it is so appropriate to use!
