Default question about avatar?!

Okay so i was going to use a picture for my avatar but when i went to it said that the pixels or whatever were to much so i looked at them and it said that they were like several thousand pixels where as the site says must be 80x80. How do you all get your pictures to work??? Thanks!

Default Resizing your photo to use as your avatar

Nichole, I use Paint Shop Pro to resize my photo for my avatar. There are other photo editing programs that can be used. If you don't have such a program or don't know how to use one, I would be happy to resize your photo for you. You can e-mail it to me at [email protected] and I'll send it right back.

I used someone else's instructions and it worked perfectly. Go into your computer's paint program. You'll find it by clicking on the start button then all programs and then accessories. When you open that program select file, open, browse to the location of the picture and select it. Then select image and then strectch/skew. Change the strectch to 50 in both the vertical and horizontal until the attributes also listed under image lists the picture being 80x80 or less. Then save it.

Default THANKS

Thanks, Melissa for those clear directions. I've been wondering how to do that, too and it worked great!

Default Follow up question....

Hey Melissa...or anyone out there...I followed the directions using the "paint" and "sketch and skew" and my avatar works, but it is kind of blurry. Anyway to remedy that? TIA

Hi Melissa,

Thank you so much for the instructions, I got my avatar up hurrah! The only difference was when I went into skew it asked me for percentages so I changed my photo to 15% of the size and that worked. HTH for anyone who gets the same as me.
This might work if your avatar is blurred.
