Default Question about glass ornaments....help!!

Hi All,

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I'd like to make some glass ornaments for a craft fair this upcoming weekend. When you stamp on the window sheet, do you cut just around the stamped object or do you cut it in a circle just smaller than the ornament itself? And once you put the window sheet into the ornament, do you adhere it anyway or does it just stay "standing up"?? Also what a you charging for these ornaments - if you've sold them yourself at a fair?

Any other suggestions for ornaments would be appreciated!!

Thanks~

Cut a circle thats the same size as your ornament. I leave a tab at the top of my circle that fits in the top of my ornament to hold it up.

Thanks for the tab hint, mine have been slightly turning around inside. Fine if snowflakes, but my sideways/upside down snowman is a little funny!

There is a document in this thread that gives AWESOME instructions for the ornaments. This is what I used for mine - saved me a ton of the window sheets paper...

Hope that helps!

Another tip that I've used - if you accidentally cut the circle or the tab too small so that the acetate won't stay put, you can use a little dot of Crystal Effects to glue the tab to the neck of the ornament. That makes it not quite centered in the ornament, but it's better than having to restamp and color your image. I just put a small dot on the inside of the neck and held the tab to the "glue" with my tweezers for a few seconds while it set.

Maybe I'm the only one that made that mistake, but in case there's anyone else out there...!

This is what I do...
Since I use my Sizzix to cut the acetate into circles, I don't have a tab at the top...I use my smallest hole punch (usually one end of the buttonhole punch - the space between the hole makers is a perfect depth for the hole in the acetate...just line it up so the top "punch is just outside the acetate and squeeze!) then I string a piece of clear elastic beading cord through the hole, roll the acetate and insert it in the ornament, replace the hanger part and tie it to the gold loop in the ornament hanger...trim the ends as short as possible...once you wrap the ribbon around the top, you dont see the ends. HTH and makes sense...
duh...I wonder if my oval tag set for Sizzix would work...the hole is already there...something to add to my to do list!!!!
