Hi I'm new to swaps and was wondering if anyone could answer a silly question for me. My question is What is the best way to mail 12x12 swaps to keep them from getting bent? You can email me at [email protected] or just post a note and I'll keep checking back. I appreciate any input. Have a blessed day.
I sent my Secret Sibling some 12 x 12 paper. I didn't know what to use. I ended up using a priority box from the post office. It fit in there just fine. But then you have to pay priority shipping.
I haven't found ANYTHING that will fit the 12x12 nicely... I had some Candy Designer paper and a small plaidmaker I wanted to trade but couldn't find anything that would ship it well so never tried to trade them.
My 12x12 scrapbooking kit came in something that looked a LOT like a pizza box. Would something like that work for you?
ETA if you could find two large sheets of corrugated cardboard and cut it down to 12x12 or the necessary dimensions, you could sandwich the 12x12 item between the cardstock and wrap brown kraft paper from a roll around it. It'd be like a self-made photo mailer!
There are specially desgined cardboard mailers called Memory Mailers that will hold quite a few sheets of 12x12 paper. I've gotten them at a few scrapbook/craft stores, and I *think* I saw them on www.addictedtoscrapbooking.com. They are a few bucks a piece, but worth it!

Thank you very much to all who were able to post their suggestions. They were all wonderful. I appreciate the time and effort each one of you made. Again many thanks.
I usually ship my 12x12 in the large priority box. Yes, you do have to pay for priority shipping ($3.85), but the boxes are free which is one benefit, and it's delivered within a few days which is another. Also, the paper won't get bent. I didn't know about the large padded envelopes. I wonder if it would be more cost effective with those.
