Question Question on Papertrey stamps

I just ordered my first 2 sets of Papertrey stamps - Mixed messages and Limitless Labels.

Here is my question - does anyone else have problems with the ink *really* staining your stamps? I mean it sticks to it like paint and WILL NOT come off at all. More than just staining. I've used color box, SU and Adirondeck and all of them stick to it like permanent markers or something. Just wondering if it was this was standard for their stamps??

For clear stamps this is pretty standard - once used they are stained or 'well loved' as I prefer to say. The staining does not effect the stamp quality at all - actually it seasons them a bit better and you get a better image.

I think it always happens, it's totally fine, just like Shannon said.

It doesn't seem to happen to any of my other clear stamps? Only Papertrey stamps. The others wash off partially. Still has a bit of a stain but these are COMPLETELY colored solid??

I had the same problem. Around Christmas I was using hers and another brand of clear stamps and the other ones cleaned really well. Hers not so much. Honestly I haven't used the stamps since.

Does the staining affect the stamped image? I actually prefer stained clear stamps because I can see them better, so I stamp them with Ancient Ink sepia before I use them. It turns the stamps a light brown. I clean them pretty well with baby wipes and sometimes a little Ultra Clean, and have never once had ink "stain" transfer to a lighter colored ink or anything at all. PTI's stamps make lovely images IMO.

If I use SU! classic inks, there is very little or no staining when I clean the Papertrey stamps. But if I use Palette or chalk inks, it seems to stain. It doesn't seem to affect the stamping, though.

You took the words right out of my mouth! Any staining I experience has never affected the stamped image. As others have mentioned, the more 'loved' my PTI stamps are, the better they stamp.

Staining is very standard for clear stamps.....but I love it! Then I can actually read the sentiments and they are easier to place exactly where you want them on a card because you can see where the ink is.
When I have time, I actually ink all my new stamps on purpose to stain them....you probably think I'm nuts, but it works for me!

I have staining on a lot of my clear stamps from all different stamp companies...sometimes I purposely stain the red rubber ones so I can better see the detail. They are clean but stained and well loved.

If you would like to avoid staining, I would recommend either Brilliance graphite black (or any Brilliance inks) or Vivid black. Both work wonderfully with clear stamps and don't stain one bit!
