Default Question re: storing chalk pads

How do you store your chalk pads? Right side up or upside down? Have any of you had problems with ink leakage from any of the pads, and if so, what did you do? I just got mine today and one color (the red in the Earths/Regals pad) is very 'juicy' and has leaked. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

I don't have any advice about chalk pads but some of my craft pads have leaked. One was so bad my demo called demo support and they replaced it. I would definitely not store them upside down. (opposite of how they are intended) HTH

I have all the colors ColorBox makes in the fluid chalks and I store them in a big shoebox, stacked standing on end. I have not had any of them leak as of yet. I've also asked this question wondering if there is a preferred way to store them (like pigment vs dye) but I've not found a true answer yet. Seems everyone stores them however they feel and it doesn't seem to affect the pad. I'll be watching this post to see if anyone else has any thoughts.

Default pads

Not that I am an expert by any means, but I store mine right side up. LOL

The company suggests you store them right side up to keep them from leaking. (I talked to one of there demo's)

Default storing ink pads

I always store mine upside down and have never had a problem with leakage.
When ink pads are getting a bit old if you store them upside down you will get a bit more life out of them.

Stamp pads should never be stored "on end". It makes me crazy when I go into a store and see them that way. It can cause ink to pool, whether it is craft or dye. Dye ink pads should be stored with the pad upside down. SU pads are designed so that they are upside down when closed. Craft pads should be stored right side up. The ink is very thick, and you don't want it pooled in the top of the pad.

Similar story for ink cartridges. They should not be stored on end. If you store them that way, you can easily get stamped images that are very uneven, due to pooling ink on one end of the roller.
